Where did you drive to with your TR today

Recommended Posts

Hi Folks,

I've managed to clean up this picture of the Bee-Eater on a power line.  Awkward shooting; Bright sky behind shutting  the lens down.

Again it really was a long way away. At the limit of my 600mm telephoto lens

But you can see some good detail.

Lovely end to a lovely day. Crisp winter coastal run, and down to the beach for a stroll at sundown.  Happy new year all, Deggers

This weekend is the 50-year celebration of the Dutch TRCH.

Over 200 cars and around 400 guests attend the event.

The UK is well represented with several groups attending and it was a good opportunity to meet several forum-friends “in real”.

I've just returned from a week's touring with some Triumph friends, in the pic you can see my GT6 and the lovely TR3 belonging to Yvan Roggeman, it was definitely the car of the week, handling everything that was thrown at it and keeping up with us all, not including an interesting 127mph stretch I managed in the GT6 at one point!. We had a few days in Bled, I'd recommend a visit there, the nearby roads are great and the mountains don't attract too many cyclists or motorcycles.

Had a nice lunchtime  at the Classic Car Hub  near Bibury in Oxfordshire.

Had pride of place for the parking - right up front (in front of some Ferarri's)

No pics but good memories.

I bet they are still there. They are very close to the pair of gate houses, one of which is the NT tea room. They are low down in the meadow and probably at the same level as the river. You wouldn’t see them from the river .

Have you ever seen the circle of chairs in the middle of the meadow from the river? I doubt it.

I walked over the grass to where they were (opposite the NT car park.) The two rows of metal chairs were there as always.

Did you see the "Writ in water" memorial (looks like a huge concrete bin)

Nope didn’t see the memorial but wasn’t really looking at anything else other than the wicker people as I wanted to get our TR as a backdrop, and then lunch. The wicker people were very near the Tea room.

Waldi, that's great to hear!

"Sadly" me and my wife have been out for a week at the southern Black Forest,

Monday to Friday we for our own at Badenweiler, Friday started the German TR-Registers "4 sections Ausfahrt" at Breisach.

We enjoyed it very much, photos I add tomorrow (download not finished).

Ciao, Marco

Spent saturday locating and fitting a new starter to my 4 .

Couldn't have done it without the amazing help from the Dutch TR guys ,locating and driving me to collect and then fitting it.

Hi Roy,
Sorry to hear that, I wasn’t aware you were in need of a starter motor. There was a red UK TR6 too with a failed “high torque” sm, or am I confused now and was it you?

Hope it works ok now.

Hi Nigel,
no problem, hopefully we can meet in Shepton Mallet, it was a busy weekend for all of us, with many friends, old and new, to meet.

Hi Mark,
I have forwarded a link to this topic to the organisers.

The Dutch TR team who organised this are happy to receive such positive feedback from so many guests but if things can be done better please tell us (me) too.

And…..Shepton Mallet here we come! Counting the days….

Best regards,
Waldi
