sunset at John o'Groats

Took my cousin out to lunch. She was born in 1918.   Tom

Lovely end to a lovely day. Crisp winter coastal run, and down to the beach for a stroll at sundown.  Happy new year all, Deggers

Redrose Group had a lovely 100 mile Autumn Leaves run to Carsington Water, where we had lunch and a look round the visitors centre. We then continued (unfortunately with roofs on as it was still raining) along some great roads to the Bulls Head at Mottram for our evening meal.

Out with my wife for a 80 miles autumn tour at best weather,

visited 2 lovely gardens to see them first time in October.

Later with blue sky we had a brake at a cider „Besenwirtschaft“ for a snack.

TR run lovely, returned with lots of autumn impressions.

lovely Bamburgh Castle, very photogenic with its fantastic golden beaches, as indeed much of Northumberland has.   Might be a bit nippy there this week with the cold snap comping though perhaps still a bit better than our recent fortnight’s holiday in Scotland which included the tail end of two hurricanes and a named storm.  We weren’t in the TR fortunately.
More on Bamburgh can be seen on iPlayer at https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/m0010chv on photos on Flickr

Plenty of ideas on places to go can be seen at Visit Northumberland  .  One thing I’d suggest is be wary of going to Lindisfarne ( holy island) in the TR if such was being planned.   While lovely, driving over the causeway at low tide will still get your car covered in salt.

Enjoy your trip.

Paul

Thanks very much, Hamish.
