Lovely end to a lovely day. Crisp winter coastal run, and down to the beach for a stroll at sundown.  Happy new year all, Deggers

Some details are lovely different on this car from those I've seen at the internet.

Day trip to Wickes.

I wasn't sure how well the timber would fit. These were 2.4m long, but I recon I could have got 3m in without a problem.

The boot rack came in useful.

I used my old TR4A (in the 70's) to bring a washing machine home from Comet to wash the football kit.

Mum wouldn't ;let me use hers.  Front seat out = bags of room.

Today I didn't use my TR but I went to see a TR4A at the Farnborough auction - on this Saturday 11th.

A bit embarrassing really ALL the cars bar one were beautiful/magnificent/stunning. Except for the Aunt Sally 4A.

Yet it was asking top dollar  £22K - £27K  for a car with serious paint issues and possibly other unknown disasters.

However not all was awful. There was a TR6 on 3xWebers + roll over cage and very nice paint work  £13K - £15K with NO reserve.

And there was a stunning Facel Vega for just £100k - £150K

My pockets were nervously shaking.

I really must keep my eyes open more often - very local to me and I didn’t even know there was an auction on  !   Shame it didn’t look as good as it should in the flesh.

In line with the law of Sod.

Sun is out and the TR is in bits.

Waiting for ‘O’ rings to seal top and bottom of the steering pins.

Getting close!

Hi,

out with my TR4A yesterday to help me 81 years old dad with house issues

I drove by an opened garage door of a neighbor only 100 m away from his house and noticed this:

AP1GczNxE7GCqkeLH7hA2r91xYFra5EHj7TPvlWv

First time I've seen this car (Jensen 541) in real life and made me remember a C-V8

that has been the 1st price in a charity tombola of a German classic car magazin some years ago.

Had a nice chat with the owner and his wife, also kidding his dog. Both our cars have about the same green color, his a bit dusty.

Like me he hoped to win the C-V8, but sadly we both did not.

Looking under the bonnet I gave him the advice to kick the "nice" petrol filter in the bin, which he fitted newly.

Ciao, Marco

That model is pretty rare now (Only 193 of the R version built) great long distance tourer though slightly thirsty.

Do you know about the 5.4 liter 6 cylinder engine?

Should I make him an offer?

Yes its a Limousine engine, loads of torque will pull away in top gear.

I hope you are referring to the village and not the car, Hamish :(.

Sunny Devon nearly went to the Dartmouth, but wife chose today’s destination.

I first visited Grimspound in the late 1960's,  long before 'archaeology' became mainstream and fashionable - most people didn't know such places existed.  In those days I had my first car - a 100E Anglia - and being basically skint,  I had camped out in it near Dartmeet.  Gosh that's a long time ago.
