  2. Are you planning to mount this in the normal position at the base of the screen ? If so, been there, done that. almost the same as your proposal. It did not work out for me, as the extra weight of the full dipping mirror would resonate at certain revs, and the mirror would shake give a very blurred picture. That is why I reverted to fitting the wedge shape glass into an original TR frame, which weighs rather less. Bob
  3. Hi Jim, thank you for the photo, and after browsing for the correct spare part: the difference is the pushrod. Original is a fixed lenght, but I bought my TR4A in 2009 with a longer and adjustable one, I found it on photos and in my scrap box. Until today I used a selfmade more solid adjustabel push rod, adjusted to the maximum lenght. I was always very pleased with the situation. My test today with a shorter one brings both pedals on the same height, this has advantages but (IMO) more disadvantages. I'm not pleased with the situation and will do another modification.
  4. Marco, here ya go! Also my pedal heights look just like Mike’s (but on the left! ) Oh and that “pedal” on the far left is a foot rest I made by modifying the high beam switch bracket! Jim
  5. It is Standard Triumph same era as sidescreen TR as the mirror head is identical to TR3A but painted sea green rather than crinkle black. The bracket fits to the underside of the screen frame like a 4-6. Have never seen this mirror on. TR4 but that does not mean it was not some first few models only. More likely Vanguard 2-3 Sportsman, or Ensign perhaps.
  6. All back together now. Steering lighter but not R&P light. i tried to use o rings top and bottom of the bush to keep the road dirt out. Picture of the arrangement
  7. No. Just keep an eye on the level in the reservoir though, as pushing the slave piston back could cause it to overflow if the fluid level is already high.
  8. images of the triangular shaped mirror edge of the 584 plus the insides when the mirror is removed. I have done a quick sketch of the stem I might make for the Lucas 584 mirror to mount in the original position.
  9. Just coming back to this, do I need to drain the brake fluid from the system to set this up? Thanks
  10. Of course. It’s how “savilles” would describe it fii or r the london market. the car is lovely and shiny
  11. Hi Jim, could you also please add a photo from under the bonnet? Thank you! Ciao, Marco
  12. I first visited Grimspound in the late 1960's, long before 'archaeology' became mainstream and fashionable - most people didn't know such places existed. In those days I had my first car - a 100E Anglia - and being basically skint, I had camped out in it near Dartmeet. Gosh that's a long time ago.
  13. Hi Mike, could you please add a photo from the other end of the pedal, under the bonnet? Ciao, Marco
  14. Not worth more than £15K at auction. Roger
  15. I hope you are referring to the village and not the car, Hamish . Sunny Devon nearly went to the Dartmouth, but wife chose today’s destination.
  16. I'm told by my partner she watched it on line but without sound. High bid 19k not sure if sold
  17. I have a pair of original TR5 front seats for sale. Black vinyl with white piping. One seat has lever which locks seat to runners. Not sure why only one seat has this. I have suspicion the seats may have been fitted the wrong way around - though not an expert on TR5’s/seats. They are not perfect but are usable/restorable. The diagrams were replaced c.15 years ago and still in good condition. The seats were fitted to my TR4a and fouled the hood frame which has caused some damage to the outer edge of the drivers seat and slight damage to the outer edge of the passenger seat. Seats will c
  18. Hi Richard, My friend did not bother to attend the auction. We viewed it on Thursday and it was seriously over priced *(£22K - £27K) It really didn't look good. It would be interesting to see what happened. I suspect it wasn't sold. Roger

    Door cards

"The corners of the card leave a bit to be desired because they are not fixed to anything. Maybe some other ali strip fitted to the main ones (not sure how)." Dave, would some velcro strips assist here? I have found that the adhesive on the genuine stuff that comes on a roll with a strip of hooks and another of loops is pretty strong if you leave them to cure on the selected surfaces before pressing the strips together. Just a thought. Miles
