My 3A is called Smurfette or Schtroumpfette in French , simply because when a friends girlfriend saw it after it was painted she said in a very loud voice " Wow elle est super jolie et de la même couleur que Schtroumpfette" (she is pretty the same colour as Smurfette) My daily driver a 2003 Citroen Berlingo is called the grandad-wagon cheers Alan

Life Sucks, Diane and Alec are both characters in their own way , and I use the present term, as even though Alec has gone to the big race in the sky his and Dianes help advice and just good common sence helped me out when I was having a Sh1t time. Alec and Diane helped me more than they know even though I let them down.   10. I always thought the output on a mig was around 20 to 30 volts dc, it should be impossible to get a shock unless there is a fault with the welder ?

  14. Hi David Welcome to owning a sidescreen and to the forum. To help date your 3A, my car that i imported to france from the US was built on 28 July 1961 and the comission number is TS 783XX-L (the last two X's are numbers but I dont like giving them away on an open forum) It was registered in the US as a 1962 car. The engine number is about 300 higher than the comission number. I rebuilt the motor to TR4 spec at 2.2 litres and a later head, and as you have found out you cant drive them and not smile. cheers Alan
  15. Richard I will not order from moss’s website as their shipping costs are horrendous. If you ring up the London branch and order over the phone they will normally send small parts by Royal Mail for a very reasonable price. I always find trshop London has the lowest international shipping. Last time I tried moss Paris their prices were much higher than moss uk cheers Alan

I would recomment Christians seal, it would be next to impossible t install it without the mandril, I made my own mandril from Aluminium using a friends lathe as when the kit first came out the mandril dimensions were available.   18. Did the same with my 3a more permanent than waxoil and can be treated with waxoil after if you want for belt and braces

  20. Its got to the point in my garage where I am having to hang things from the celing
  21. France has just closed down all shops except foot and chemists, all bars, restaurants,night clubs etc. this after announcing on Thursday the closure of all schools, colleges and universities! Thank god for Netflix cause there will be not a lot else to do for a few weeks :(
  22. John i live in the Dordogne and 98 with 5% is getting harder to find , as I was replacing the fuel lines as part of the resto I thought it would pay to future proof the car cheers Alan
