Graham
Really .......................bit of an optimistic rebuild https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Triumph-Chassis-Plate-Reg-Docs-GGT3J-Parts-Import/202235588435?hash=item2f162e2f53:g:NisAAOSwceNaZHiH

MostEasterlySteve
Naughty. I don't approve. And that alone should give the seller sleepless nights.
boxofbits
I think the DVLA should be notified. The seller has as good as admitted that the car is still in existence, and still in use. I thought the only V5c options were, car exported, change of keeper, or car scrapped, and not 'I've gone racing with it so I've sold the log book!' Kevin
Alec Pringle
That will be another TR6 stolen and rung in due course then . . . . . Unless enough real enthusiasts report to Ebay and DVLA. Cheers Alec

Nick Jones
Postage costs a bit steep too - even first class doesn't cost that much! Nick
SeanF
The pic of the V5 has his name and address clearly visible
John390
Still for sale. The strange thing is the vin plate looks like it says LD ****** BW which would make it a Stag auto vin plate. I may be wrong!! Cheers John Edited February 21, 2018 by John390
boxofbits
Still for sale. The strange thing is the vin plate looks like it says LD ****** BW which would make it a Stag auto vin plate. I may be wrong!! Cheers John It is recorded as a Triumph TR6, commission number CP 53797. Kevin
John390
I know, but read the vin plate! Cheers John
boxofbits
I know, but read the vin plate! Cheers John Hi John On my iPad I can't read that much detail, but I believe I can see a sequence of numbers xx389, though if the plate didn't match the V5C I can't see anyone buying it? But the reg plate definitely relates to the commission number above. PS. Just taken another look and it does look like LD 11389 which as you rightly say relates to a '72 Stag. Naughty boy I'd say up to no good! Kevin Edited February 21, 2018 by boxofbits
Tim D.
Sent the guy a message enquiring why the number was wrong. He thanked me and says he has just realised that he put up an old stag vin plate and will put up the proper CP vin.
Tim D.
Interestingly the V5 also says it's a coupe
John390
I wonder what happened to the Stag? Cheers John
boxofbits
Oh dear, maybe he has a collection of so many VIN plates he gets them mixed up?! So he supposedly has a Stag 'track car' as well then? Sounds like 'one of the lads' ought to pay this man a visit? Could uncover a classic car breaking gang, you never know! CONCRETE24
Interestingly the V5 also says it's a coupe Hi Tim, Mines described as a coupe on the V5 too. I think this might be because it was originally sold as a hardtop model (thats what my heritage certificate said I think - cant find it). The hardtop is long gone and it has had a soft top fitted for at least 30 years but the V5 remembers perhaps! Regards, Michael
TR 2100
Click the report button on Ebay This was listed on eBay a couple of weeks ago. I went through the eBay 'complaint' procedure. I didn't 'save' the details but it's the reference to the registration not being required as the car is "now a track car" that reminded me. I could track the original auction through the browsing 'history' function. Never heard anything from eBay, and the auction was not stopped, even though the reference to the actual car now being a track car makes it totally obvious what is envisaged by the seller. Makes you wonder. AlanR Edited February 22, 2018 by TR 2100
Graham
Perhaps these details need to be recorded by Derek (Graham) in the TR6 records that way if somebody, in the future, approached the register for a 'history' on said 'car' prior to their purchase it could be flagged that the identity may not be the one the car left the factory with. At the very least it would record the fate of the particular car.

dave-lewis
Hi all, I owned this TR6pi GGT3J It was Damson with a hardtop. It was in a sorry state but a complete car, when I sold it. I can't remember when, possibly 1999/2000. The commission number would be about right. Bought with the intention of a restoration which didn't happen. I think I had it for at least a couple of years. Kind Regards, Dave from sunny Spain
