  1. Or just by a round battery analogue clock and using the supplied sticky pad stick to the ashtray Chris
  2. Well from my understanding then everyone who’s changed their chassis or had more than 25% body panels changed in a restoration will need a Q plate registration Chris
  3. In cases like that it should be a pass and advise it’s not hard to apply common sense as I’ve mentioned before on the refresher courses we were told pass and advise if there was any confusion with the bible (mot testers manual ) HOWEVER that didn’t mean pass and advise something that is excessively worn or corroded because it’s a mates car !! I think we’ve all said get the vehicle annually motd or at the very least ask for a voluntary ramp inspection and roller brake test just be safe if you haven’t seen my post on the rear hub unit that failed the other week have a look at the picture if l ha

    Better Seats

Hi Steve A fellow group member has MR2 cloth seats fitted in his 6 I’ve removed them and refitted after some work for him they are a perfect fit if l could find some leather ones l would fit to my 4a Chris
  5. Hi Tim sometimes a manifold stud bottoms on a head stud try if not already done, remove them Chris
  6. As Mick above says on the day the vehicle is presented it needs to meet the requirements which some may find this hard to believe can vary hugely between test stations , one person’s opinion on wear is different from others. When l use to attend testers refresher courses the vosa instructor told us of an incident where a two cars pulled up on the street visible to the garage whereby the wheels were switched the car presented and passed the mot then back to the street and wheels were switched again nothing could be done because the vehicle passed when presented . There’s plenty of other example
  7. Can sometimes be discs, build up of rust on the inner edges or a lip on the outer edges Chris
  8. As comments above an overhauled gearbox alone is going to be around £2000 then clutch/ associated wiring/ switches and labour on top so nudging £3000 ish Chris
  9. Just thought I’d post a picture of the failed rear hub so others could see the result of a reconditioned unit fitted by previous owner with less than 15000 miles of use now replaced with a new moss unit so here’s a lesson for anyone that’s considering using reconditioned over new Chris
  10. I have a pair of black American spec seats for sale that are in excellent condition with runners £200 Ono for what ever reason won’t load pictures the correct way Chris
  11. Many thanks as always Roger Chris
  12. Hi Roger that’s what l thought but when l view the basket it’s reduced to£280 + delivery of course so these are the ones you recommended in other posts that are new not reconditioned? Chris
  13. Hi all After finding free play in the near side rear hub I’m in the process of buying a new unit from the usual suspects am l right in thinking moss are only selling new units part number 402347 ? It’s confusing me as the price with discount is £280 which is nearly £100 less than some are charging for exchange units or have l misread ? Chris
  14. Hi Mick l supplied the dash top and crash pads they sent them down the road to the trimmers. The ‘H’ frame l did myself with a kit from eBay . The small splits and missing bits of vinyl they fill as long as it’s not too big a piece missing ,l believe they use body filler and sand back, from the conversation l had with Gary Chris
  15. Have had TRGB recover mine to match the rest (exposed stitching ) although they do out source this service Chris
  16. Hi It sound like out of balance throttle bodies Chris
  17. Hi Phil l always leave my oil level mid way up the dip stick just remember that the min is the lowest you should have in the sump and the max is obviously the most in between is fine the lines are just guides Chris

I think it’s another modification that’s drifted from the competition cars onto road cars that’s not really needed but that’s only my opinion Chris
  19. I agree fair price for it, seems like prices are where they should be lately and not over inflated because of greed Chris
  20. As Andy says blue hylamor doesn’t set also once fibre washers have become soaked they really need to be replaced with new and l would fit dry Chris
  21. Hi Mick yes that’s what l meant along with getting drift when caught in the tarmac tracks the HGVs make !!! Chris
  22. Just checked my 20lts of westway 20/50 mineral oil it states 1500ppm Zinc 1450ppm Phosphorus and 2900ppm Sulphur if this helps anyone perfectly ok for me Chris
  23. Hi David I’m running Minilite 5.5j wheels with 165/80 15 and find it fine on my 4a handling isn’t as good as 195 but low speed turning is so it’s a fair compromise overall
