Motorsport Mickey
Mini shaft with ball bearings driving which lay in the grooves and expand to grip with their outer diameters when the ball bearings are forced up the tapered groove at the end ? that's what I make how it mmmmmaaaayyy work. Anything like that in those gearboxes, maybe something like a unidirectional clutch in gearboxes but a different version. ? Wha u think ? oldtuckunder
27 mm as it is the "10 digit system", not 8 or 16:) Well my steel rules at the 11 -12" point are all in 10ths
Paul Down
It looks very much like a blade from a wood planer with drive slots at each end, perhaps an early version before slot in blades were used?
graeme
Possibly some kind of reamer?
RogerH
There is a big wear mark in the middle of the 'blade' area. Roger
Lebro
Does seem to have swarf laying in the grooves - perhaps it is a cutting blade Bob.
Guest ntc
Router bit blades removed.
Mark69
Head off a nail gun?
John Bracher
It might be a Dremel (or smilar) toolbit. Some of the router accessory blades look like that.
AndrewP
Looks like its designed to join 2 cables together. The ball/nipped sits in either end, then the cable can lay flat into the groove then the whole ensemble fitted into a hole of the same diameter as the 'peg'.
cbxman
The fretting on the ends is longitudinal, which would indicate running in a cylinder end to end, not spinning.
