littlejim
With a bit of luck it will have run into a few crevices and will reduce the risk of the floor rusting. Steves_TR6
I'll be sure to 'give a little whistle' when refitting the interior ;-)
Allan Jezzard
Not a lot of consolation, Steve but I'm with Little Jim. You've had your bad luck I hope you have some of the opposite.
Kevo_6
Hi Steve. That's a real bu$$er, especially after all your hard work on the dash. Still, now you will have an even better interior.
Steves_TR6
Luckily the Dash is untouched! The oil poured neatly through the stereo and onto/behind the carpet. I'm sanguine about it, looking forward to fitting new carpets, console panels, gear gaiter, etc etc :-) Oh and a nice new and leakproof oil pressure pipe from Revington, with a new 20p washer ! Steves_TR6
Couple of parts arrived today, top service from from Revington and 'Chic Doig' on Ebay Revington braided oil pressure pipe is lovely : and the SAP moulded transmission tunnel is nice too : I've agreed to meet Gordon at Stoneleigh to buy his carpet set, so i just need some Console panels and carpet glue to be able to put the car back together. I will also replace the tired : Sunvisors Interior Mirror Headrest Foams Gear Lever Gaiter So if you have any of those do let me know before the weekend ! will post pics of the interior once its back together, next week i hope. steve Edited February 25, 2014 by SDerbyshire
Steves_TR6
Had an hour to spare this afternoon , so finished the cleanup. Also fitted the new hose and tunnel cover. Pretty mush ready to start reassembly if it's dry tomorrow :-) Steve

CONCRETE24
Hi Steve, Glad to see the car coming back together! If you do replace your sun visors - do you want to sell the old ones? Tired from your car will be fine in mine! My TR was the special lightweight version that doesn't seem to have them! PM me if you want to sell - sorry for being so opportunist if you don't! Cheers, Michael
Steves_TR6
Niall and Guy, thanks that's a good idea. Actually, there's a removable panel on the side not shown. Which side is the filler?, I can't remember and I only did that check last week! Michael, I will be replacing the sunvisors, so will let you know when I do. ( mine aren't terrible but the passnger side one has a loose mirror. I won't be replacing the mechanism just the actual visors) Steve Ps, hoping to get the dash back in tomorrow, oil change, and fire her up :-)
Jersey Royal
Filler hole for gearbox is on the left or passenger side. Cheers Guy Right side would be access to speedo angle drive. Edited February 25, 2014 by Jersey Royal

Guest ntc
Interesting split cover? yes I know what they are but that is very close to the h frame
Steves_TR6
Interesting split cover? yes I know what they are but that is very close to the h frame I'm not sure who fitted the split gearbox cover Neil, but it may have been racetorations as they did a lot of work on the car back in the 90s (engine and gearbox, lots of suspension work) The H frame does fit, I only removed it yesterday :-) Steve
Guest ntc
Steve Hope it all turns out spot on keep there cover is split behind the stick and has been for many years

Motorsport Mickey
Neil, Gearbox cover looks like a Racetorations cover to me, check out their website it shows an identical cover to this with the split in front of the gearstick ? Mick Richards

Steves_TR6
Well, after much effort Its starting to come back together :-) Today i finished the cleanup, the rear vinyl panels came up really well with some autoglym interior cleaner and a toothbrush ! Dash back in, quadruple checking the new oil pipe for leaks...... Only issue was that i seem to have lost one of the nuts that secures the tacho, thought i would be ok as have spare ones from the small instrument that i bought but they don't seem to have the same thread?? That's it until i get the new carpet, hopefully on Sunday at Stoneleigh. Steve
stuart
Steve Moss keep the knurled nuts. Stuart.
Steves_TR6
Steve Moss keep the knurled nuts. Stuart. Thanks Stuart. Looking at Moss's site I can see that the gauges I bought were from an early mg, look exactly the same as late CR ones but different threads! £1:10 from Moss, not so bad :-) Steve
