After a good discussion with Quickfit Seat belt manufacturer I changed my belts to his.The centre stalks are the bladed type and the tops should be level or just below the seats so does not impact on your body side in a crash. The quality is streets ahead of what I have been used to. I knew them forty years ago when they were then called Kenton Seat Belts. Regards Harry

Langley Autocraft, Kings Langley, Hertfordshire 01923 269456 (Nigel MOT man) have been MOT ing my Triumphs for more years that I care to mention. He knows his stuff and our TR,s. Dan who does my Four wheel tracking has left Discount Tyres and now can be found at Langley 4x4 01923 266333. I have no financial interest in the above just a very satisfied customer and can be of interest of Members who are looking for that work. Regards Harry

Drivers door lock assembly(connects to door opening lever arm)

Riche's ones will be ace, he goes the extra yard. Regards Harry -
I am firmly in the camp of annual MOT's and my long time MOT inspector who I became friends over the years (RS 1600 MK1 and Pre XR2 Fiesta owner) failed my TR5 due to powder coating everything and machined surfaces becoming slack due to squiggling up of the coating (lesson soon learnt) and I always clean off now. This law of not needing an MOT does not make sense. A forty year old banger can be bought by an unspeculating youngster which can be a death trap! Stupid law. Regards Harry

Sorry Stuart I do not want to rain on your parade. I have to rely on Emerald to sort any glitches .I can plug my lap top in and see the mapping but unless you know what you are doing and can map it yourself (very limited to what I can do) I leave it to the experts. I have learned some disciplines along the way. The younger element amongst us this will be childs play of course as they were brought up with it. Regards Harry

I went with the Jenvey Heritage with inbuilt injectors a throttle sensor. Yes they are dear but a joy to use and I have done a few thousand miles on them including track day events. The new original look alike that Jenvey have just manufactured and dyno tested with favourable results are the way to go I think. Regards Harry

Very useful for me Dave and fixings do not protrude in the way. I now have a spot welder which when repaired properly from an ex Alpha Romeo racing champion (in former life) works better than left the factory. He advertises on Ebay. I plug welded mine but the spot welder every time now and very quick with no clean off afterwards. Take it steady and you will get there. Stuart is a wonderful source although I was not aware of him when doing mine. Regards Harry

Thank you guys, I have done one or two. This is my TR5 which I completely rebuilt twenty years ago. Just love the discipline of the build. Self tap together fully built up and walk around and around adjust here and there till satisfied then tack a few welds in to hold together. Remove all outer panels and start welding. All this why carefully looking at what you are doing. Okay not as simple as that but very satisfying as you are finding out Dave, Good luck.I will be in the modified class that Dan and I are running in Malvern under leadership of Graham Andrews. See you the

Never heard of those copies Andy but personally I would go with the genuine as you will have great back up from the manufacturer. But of course your choice and hope it goes well. regards Harry

Had this on a TR6 and turned out to be a jammed cam follower. Engine not turned in years. Regards Harry

There is plenty of traffic regarding these hubs so it is worth it to bring it up again and thanks. Regards Harry

Blown or supercharged Tr.s any other modified Tr,s you will be very welcome. Regards Harry and Dan -
I have fitted the Cambridge annular clutch kit with all the hydraulics inside the bell housing and it works really well. Using a pedal stop so not to over-stroke it and the travel is much less and lighter it is a win, win. If it leaks a gearbox out I am afraid. Cambridge Motorsports have sold many and good feed back. If I had Marco's skill I would make the same. Regards Harry

Nothing wrong with those mirrors. Majority of TRs have them. I would leave alone and sell your lucky find on. Regards Harry

Please don't mess around get a new wiring loom. I stripped out a burnt wiring loom and when investigating even further into the wiring loom it was a mess. Do not risk it! Regards Harry

I had this problem and despite having it calibrated etc.. after a rebuild it still flickered. I changed the speedo drive and cable but still the same. Spoke to overdrive services and they suggested it could be the drive worm gear for the speedo angle drive. There is a bolt just up from the angle drive which locates the worm drive. I changed it for a new one and bingo it worked in my case so now a happy bunny. Not saying it could be the same as yours but something to look out for. Good luck. P.S. I cleaned the inner cable and coated it with graphite lock powder.

I love these with the bonnet stripes and yours would be silver, but does not detract for being a very nice car. The colour I am somewhat biased as my (TR5) is in Jasmine. Enjoy! Regards Harry
