Richardtr3a
I am trying to remember the name of a four or five man group who had a hit in the early 60's. The singer was a young man with light coloured hair and a round face. He had a small beard around his chin about 1 1/2" wide from the top of the ear on each side. Not many had beards on TOTP and I think maybe, that the band name began with a C. It was a very long time ago and none of my family can find the name. If any one can discover the band, it would be very helpful. Thanks Richard & B
Crawfie
Google “ list of bands from the 60s” A to Z will poop up . Click on the Cs and away you go . Something on the list may just jog your memory . Mind you they say if you can remember the 60s ………..
cp25616
Creedence Clearwater Revival springs to mind here. Not early 60's though but still 60' all the same. Alan G
Charlie D
17 hours ago, Crawfie said: Google “ list of bands from the 60s” If that does not work then Google: “Pop singers with beards from the 1960’s” And click on “Images”, you get quite a choice. DO NOT Google: “Blond pop singers with beards from the 1960’s” As most of them are women (although several of them do seem to have beards.) Charlie.
Peter Cobbold
Manfred Mann ? but it was not the singer with a beard.

ken foster
No evidence they played TOTP, the original line up, a US band. The beard seems to have gone in most of the pics/ videos. His mum must have made him shave it off for school. Well that's my input. Ken.

Richardtr3a
That was a good result. The band that I was trying to remember was Manfred Mann. Thank you for the help. I was thinking they might have light hair but the moment that I saw the picture I knew that this was the band I was trying to remember.. I used to watch TOTP every week. What do teenagers watch now ? How important is pop music in the modern world ?? Thanks Richard & B

Peter Cobbold
It's odd, I knew one of the Manfreds had such a beard. Yet I have no "mind's eye": no ability to pull up an image. I recgonise faces OK, and often put names to them, but I cannot "see" them internally. My "mind's eye" is just swirling blackness. Decades ago I did wonder if I was somehow odd as my experience was at odds with other's descriptions, but describing what we experience consciously is fraught with difficulty ( eg does my experience of the colour red match your's?). Recently researchers have established that lack of a mind's eye - aphantasia - is quite common ( ca 5%). https://medicalxpress.com/news/2021-06-brain-people-lack-visual-imagery.html And I wasn't an especial MM fan. Odd what we remember. Peter

Peter That’s really interesting Peter, I have trouble recognizing people that I know and remembering their names, I had a 20 minute chat with someone that knows me today but I have no idea who they are, I recognised their face but couldn’t for the life of me remember their name
