Steves_TR6
I’m down on Sapphire today working on a couple of issues with the engineers from Princess Winds seem to have peaked at about 55kts sustained and 70kts gusts, wich is about 60/80 mph and an F10. sapphire was very stable throughout The same could not be said for sail boats in the marina which were tossed about like toys In their berths. A few torn canopies but otherwise they all seem ok. here’s the local wind graph : Edited February 18, 2022 by Steves_TR6

ianc
Saw a video earlier this afternoon, with view of spire of St Thomas's church in Wells, Somerset. All of a sudden, some 6-8 feet of the spire keeled over and dropped away. Good job those below were kept from harm by some 6 feet of earth over their heads. Back in 1987, when our son was in his single storey classroom in the Primary School in Harpenden, the whole of the classrooms roof lifted up and away and was dumped in the playground. All the kids and teacher in his classroom were OK, and. as all other pupils were in their classrooms, the falling roof did not hurt anyone. Very lucky escape for all.
