Lord Flashart
Mine came with one fitted. I was told it was probably off a Daimler Dart.
stuart
Bit optimistic even for a Dart. Stuart.
Rob Salisbury
Flippin' 'eck!!, a Satnav'ed 122mph was fast enough for me!!( down hill, following wind, autobahn etc), ..... with the aerodynamics of a house brick, 140mph?... definitely not for me!! Cheers Rob
mjdearing
Dont think its a dart , dart has ign light next to main beam ,the one i am talking about is same as tr4 with just a blue main beam light central ?
Lord Flashart
Mine has the ignition and main beam light. Paul

signalredshaker
Dave Gleed sold me one of these over 30 years ago- he told me it was from a "works" car of some sort - could have been a Le Mans one.... I have it still on my TR4 and its in perfect working order. Doubt that I shall ever see it recording that speed specially with the 4.1 :1 diff my car has. Main beam indicator included, but no ignition lamp of course.
MikeF
Had a thought - possibly from TR6? It seems to checkout: There are dashboard pictures in my book "Original Triumph TR4/4A/5/6". Squinting a bit, these seem to show the TR6 has a 140MPH speedo. In some the scale is grey from 130 to 140 and in others is white all round. Mike
mjdearing
Finally got this to download as they say a pictures worth a thousand words as you can see TR4 pressed steel rear case .
stillp
Why does clicking that photo take me to "My ebay/Messages"?

signalredshaker
Here is a photo (hopefully) of my own 140mph speedo. Are they that rare?
YankeeTR5
interesting that it breaks with the continuous (TR2 thru TR6) convention of RPM's matching MPH w/regards to needle angle in fourth gear no o/d. Wonder if this was in optimistic anticipation of a production run of super fast Sabrina engined TR's? Or leftovers from Italia production? Or Maserati w/o the trident? It'd be interesting to hear what the final say on these are.
Paul Harvey
Italias don't have 140mph speedos - they are standard TR3. Pete Cox told me he was able to get period correct 140 speedos made if anyone needs one
Mark1965TR4aBRG
Here is a photo (hopefully) of my own 140mph speedo. Are they that rare? ...even rarer with the needle pointing at 140!!
Mark1965TR4aBRG
The year was 2002 and I was fettling my Tiger Super 6... No brown pants were created in the making of this photo' but I didn't do it again - honest!!
