Chris Hubball
Just returned from the above event, perfect weather, well attended by all Triumph clubs and well supported by TR owners with their cars , but no TR Register officials or gazebo surely an event of this size should have been supported by the club. Cheers Chris
RogerH
Hi Chris, me and Sue were there. Excellent turn out of Triumphs (and Standards) of all sorts. Some of those Pre-1940 cars were truly stunning. Leslie and Bob were there for the register - helping with parking etc. Roger
cvtrian
Great event, free entry for all, some (loads of) lovely cars, no TR Register presence other than Leslie, a Glavon banner, and a couple of other local group banners dotted around.......although it was advertised as official TR Register presence with hospitality and regalia sales etc. We could do worse than get the coffee van at our next event, out of the back of a van they made great coffee. How about the TR Register reciprocate and invite todays organisers to put on a ST pre war car display at Shepton Mallet - with free entry for exhibitors? monty
Yes a lovely day & event. These are the kind of events I enjoy rather than something like the International. No Register ‘shop’ presence was disappointing especially after such a thing was advertised. Every other Triumph club appeared to have something for sale on offer & put us to shame a little. Who knows, somebody may have become a member if they had been shown some Club presence & merchandise!
stillp
Looks like a great event, and only 30 miles from my house. I'd planned to go but we has family visitors. Pete
ianc
A marvellous day, and what a credit to the comparatively small Pre-1940 Triumph Motor Club which had put on a large and stunning display of Triumphs from 1923 onwards - and then asked each of us to select one as the best! I was surprised and disappointed that, apart from the large number of TRs present, the TRR club had not shown the sort of commitment one would expect of one of, if not the, largest of the Triumph clubs. I was asked to drive 4VC to the "arena" towards the end of the afternoon, to park alongside the oldest (1923) Triumph, and then was stunned to receive a trophy for "Triumph of the Day - Triumph Centenary Picnic - Walton Hall 21st May 2023". I have sent an email to John Lowe, Chairman of the Pre-1940 Triumph club, expressing grateful thanks on behalf not just of the TR Register, but on behalf of all the Triumph and Standard clubs present. Misfit
It looked like a great show, and congratulations to Ian on his trophy for 4VC. I find many Triumph and TR event require 500+ miles round trip journey for a me, while nowhere to far in a TR, my body sometimes tells me otherwise. Hopefully we will see many members at Bath and West show ground TR@70. 18 hours ago, SuzanneH said: Here are a few photos of The Centenary at Walton Hall, what a fab venue. really good photos by the way SuzanneH
