harrytr5
This came with a TR4 project car and is surplus to requirements. I presume it is for a TR4. I can bring it to Amblegate looking for £50 for it. I will be in the hall in the modified class Mobile oh seven nine four 151 6004 Regards Harry TR5 Nutter
rcreweread
Harry = can you measure the distance between the centre holes - I have a very similar looking one but I don't know what it's from although John Morrison has a much better memory than and might remind me - I took mine to Malvern last year asking £25 and had no takers! Be interested to see if they are both e same - they look it Cheers Rich
harrytr5
OK Rich I will measure it. Looks like it will join the scrap bin as will not give it away Regards Harry
BlueTR3A-5EKT
Looks like an Addco rear anti roll bar not a factory TR4 front bar. Factory bars are like paper clips. That does not mean it was not made for a TR & would not fit. here from left to right SAH TR4/4A front, TR6 Front, Spitfire 1500 front

Hamish
Would it work as a rear bar ? What’s the thickness ?

Long square bottomed U bolts and reinforcing plates for them - That would indicate to me it as rear. The connections to the suspension may have been a bit rudimentary. harrytr5
No fixings. Bar measures 30" or 760mm hole to hole centres and 3/4" or 18mm diameter. It has rubber bushes on which I presume are secured by clamping on the usual way. Mystery to me and in my way. Any takers?
Graham
Looks like the rear bar I have on BUO (TR6) if this is the case you can make a mounting kit as that what I did, but I found you had to upgrade the front bar as well otherwise it led to some ‘interesting’ handling characteristics
harrytr5
Thanks Graham any pics as that would help Regards Harry

But from memory it’s all based on a 3/8 bolt, first there is a diff mount washer, then I made a thick nylon washer from a chopping board ! This fits inside the rear spring on the trailing arm, then on the underside of the trailing arm another nylon washer, then another diff mount washer, then a nylatron spacer, then anti roll bar, another nylatron spacer, washer and a nylon nut. The chassis mounts I bought on eBay. All seems to work ok for me Edited August 19, 2022 by Graham
harrytr5
Thanks Graham Rear TR6 Anti roll bar it is or, is it? being 30" centres from memory it will be too short from trailing arm to trailling arm centres Edited August 19, 2022 by harrytr5

He was at the Triumph factory buying up some surplus old stock. They had a load of windscreens for the early cars and wanted £5 (say!?) each. Pete only had £100. "you can have 20 for that" says Triumph bloke. "What will you do with the rest?? " says Pete. "They'll go in the skip with a sledgehammer through them!!" was the reply. I could never understand the logic. Just as I can't here! Phil.

harrytr5
I have come to the conclusion many years ago that I buy dear and sell cheap as no one will pay the price! Good enough for you? My logic may be twisted but there you go. Regards Harry
greasemonkey
Sorry, didn't realise you had bought it. I was thinking it had come with a project car and was just surplus. Regards, Phil.
