This came with a TR4 project car and is surplus to requirements. I presume it is for a TR4. I can bring it to Amblegate looking for £50 for it.

I will be in the hall in the modified class Mobile  oh seven nine four 151 6004

Harry = can you measure the distance between the centre holes - I have a very similar looking one but I don't know what it's from although John Morrison has a much better memory than and might remind me - I took mine to Malvern last year asking £25 and had no takers!

Be interested to see if they are both e same - they look it

Cheers Rich

Looks like an Addco rear anti roll bar not a factory TR4 front bar.
Factory bars are like paper clips.
That does not mean it was not made for a TR & would not fit.

here from left to right

Thats definitely a rear bar, looks like possibly a Revington one, theyre quite expensive if you had the rest of it.

Stuart.

Did it come with any fixings?  Long square bottomed U bolts and reinforcing plates for them - That would indicate to me it as rear.  The connections to the suspension may have been a bit rudimentary.

Looks like the rear bar I have on BUO (TR6) if this is the case you can make a mounting kit as that what I did, but I found you had to upgrade the front bar as well otherwise it led to some ‘interesting’ handling characteristics

Thanks Graham any pics as that would help

No idea why it’s upside down ? But from memory it’s all based on a 3/8 bolt, first there is a diff mount washer, then I made a thick nylon washer from a chopping board ! This fits inside the rear spring on the trailing arm, then on the underside of the trailing arm another nylon washer, then another diff mount washer, then a nylatron spacer, then anti roll bar, another nylatron spacer, washer and a nylon nut. The chassis mounts I bought on eBay. All seems to work ok for me

This reminds me of a story Pete Cox told me about 45 years ago. He was at the Triumph factory buying up some surplus old stock. They had a load of windscreens for the early cars and wanted £5 (say!?) each. Pete only had £100. "you can have 20 for that" says Triumph bloke. "What will you do with the rest?? " says Pete. "They'll go in the skip with a sledgehammer through them!!" was the reply.

I could never understand the logic. Just as I can't here!

Phil.
