Bloody amazing what a fabulous place, from Zimbabwe Victoria falls , Botswana Chobe national park, CapeTown, East London and Richards Bay Safari’s. Unfortunately I received a little present from the ship, I believe, that has left me a little dehydrated and with severe cramp last night. Because of my poor immunity I’m now having investigations in the new AMU at Torbay. Still would not have missed it for the world. Brill Derek

Misfit
While I’ve seen amazing sights including a family of Animals wondering across our hotel lawn, I am so aware we have some equally fabulous sights here in the south hams. Lebro
A great day out at Amberley museum with the Windsor, London & Thames Valley groups. Wayne was there & gave us an interesting in-site as to the origins of "drive it day" Rain did feature, but did not spoil the day ! Click on to enlarge Bob

Misfit
Apparently they are filming a series supposedly in Devon, in Looe today. Edited September 7, 2023 by Misfit Perhaps what was intended humorous may not be taken that way.
Misfit
Mind you the restaurants there are pretty good, the Crab cannelloni and scallops I had at one went down a treat. Nice day, wish I could have done it yesterday and met up with Cornish lads. Worked by lat daughters then Dog sitting in evening. It appears not only do they get the cream tea arse about face, but they don’t recognise their boarders either. Looks like the sequel to Death in Paradise, I love these programmes. Hope it is as we need something decent to watch.

Misfit
Wistman's Wood, the eldest remaining Oak wood on Dartmoor I believed once covering a large part of the moor. We went there after joining Dave Burgess our Chairman and Wayne Scott our PR officer at Badgers holt, during the 48 hour round Britain run, 23 years after the same cars took part all those year earlier. Lovely day finished off with a pint and packet of crisps, zero alcohol of course, at two bridges, thankfully I just had one hour trip home. Unlike Dave and Wayne. Misfit
They were there, in fact two decided to attack each other feathers flew. If you look carefully you will see them all over the ground.
Drewmotty
It’s a shame that visitors are now asked not to enter the Whistmans Wood due to erosion and damage to the mosses. Another example of the sheer number of visitors wrecking what they’ve come to see. Luckily there are a couple of other ancient oak woods nearby which are better preserved due to not being publicised and being less accessible.
Misfit
You are absolutely right Andy although I didn’t mention those, now that they’re out of the bag, a sneaky visit perhaps, hopefully not. You, as an avid walker known the enjoyment one gets from sight seeing. It’s clear people want to enjoy the countryside and as a result there is some deterioration, but most people realise that hence paths and stick to those that have been formed over the years. That damage has been done, asking people to stay to these would be better than stay away. I accept that if people stop it will soon return back to nature, but clearly people will continue to explore and perhaps further damage will undoubtedly occur. At least Wistmans Wood keeps the like of us from seeking the alternative. Edited October 9, 2023 by Misfit
