Tim T
Time to venture into the forum. I have just bought a 1968 TR5 which has been slumbering quietly in a garage for the last 32 years and had a rude awakening when it was dragged into the sunlight and onto a trailer to begin its slow restoration on Saturday. I am slowly stripping it down and have been very pleasantly surprised by what I have seen - very little rust. As soon as I have all the brightwork off I want to send it off for re-chroming. So has anybody used Ashford Chroming in Kent? If so what are they like? Does anybody have any other recommendations, ideally closer to Dorset? Looking forward to sharing this project with everybody. RogerH
Hi Tim, I have used Colonnade Metal finishers (next to Wembley footy stadium) quite a few times and have always had very good results. Not expensive but a little on the slow side. I'm sure Stuart will be here to mention his favourite shop. Roger

Roger Roger Collonade aren't the company they were, had my front bumper done by the current owners grandfather back in the 80's it was brilliant. Took the full set back to them last year they took 9 months cost around £900 quid and the results weren't great at all. Which I had gone for a new stainless set now.ATB Graham

Tim T
Many thanks for all suggestions. Will get some prices and see what we get!
stuart
Looks like a very nice car and just as you described to me. Ashford chroming seem to have bought up a lot of small chromers now and then shut them down and use a van collection service to take everything to their home depot. My personal favourite has always been the old London Chroming who are now called Capital chrome.02076396434 I have used them for 30 plus years Not cheap but the best I have ever seen especially as they will also do repairs unlike a lot of others. roy53
used Stuarts recommendation early this year. Very good Roy
Tim T
I have decided to go with Capital Chrome as Stuart's recommendation. A little more expensive than others but sounded more customer friendly and instilled confidence. Fingers crossed. Thanks again for all replies. Tim
