boxofbits
Anyone got any good Hill climb clips TR or otherwise.. This is an interesting one of what appears to be a BDA Mk2 Escort. I think my TR4a would have melted or upside down in a ditch after about 1/4 mile if I tried to keep up with this! http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=vwl40XFvpLE
boxofbits
As one of the comments suggest " If you only do one awesome thing today watch this amazing little white escort! " Think My 4A would have be certified 'Dead' on the first corner LOL!

graeme
Anyone got any good Hill climb clips TR or otherwise.. This is an interesting one of what appears to be a BDA Mk2 Escort. I think my TR4a would have melted or upside down in a ditch after about 1/4 mile if I tried to keep up with this! http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=vwl40XFvpLE Awesome stuff. I didn't think a BDA could do that, so I researched a bit on this car. It has a 2.4 Pinto engine fitted with a Warrior 16v twin cam head pushing out over 300bhp. Very nice! I wonder what fuel he uses with a CR of 11.7:1? http://www.speedhunters.com/2014/02/warrior-comes-play-maximumattack-escort/#chapter-natural-aspirations Cheers Graeme
manxman
Hello. This is my 1st post as a TR4 owner. My dad has relinquished control of the car to me. We are in the Isle of Man and luckily have the Manx Classic event here each year. I currently race a 65 Mustang but next year hopefully will be in the TR4 next year. Couple of you tube clips from this years event https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=M69D6PraYBM My Dad in his Tr. We have a new engine to build for this year. (Need advice on engine builders) https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=N7V2Nd1qX50 Probably a swear word on here but this is me in the Mustang Thanks Steve
kevin bryant
Wlcome and thanks for posting Steve. You can see why the Brownes and Nick Smith rate this event. Perhaps we'll see you on the tracks and hills of the mainland? regards kev PS perhaps you were a tad faster in the Mustand than the old man was in the four?
manxman
Hi Kev Thanks for the welcome. It would be great to race next year. I have the Mustang ready for the CCSC swinging 60's but need to get an engine built for the TR. We managed to get an engine that had been dry stored for 30years with only 23,000 on it. Need advice on good engine builders We are at Oulton next weekend for the gold cup (spectating) so was planning on picking peoples brains on spec & set up Cheers. manxman
Can't beat a V8 with straight pipes. Lucky we don't have noise restrictions
john.r.davies
We are in the Isle of Man and luckily have the Manx Classic event here each year. Steve Wow, the Manx Classic is on again! I first heard about it the year before it folded, and assumed it was extinct. I'll try to come across as I live near Heysham. Does the Steam Packet Co. gouge the fares at Classic time like they do for the TT? JOhn
manxman
Hi John, Yes special rates are available through the club web site on ferries and accomodation. Entries open next month I think but you have to be quick as numbers are limited. Last year entries closed around December,,, http://www.manxmotorracing.com You would be very welcome. Cheers Steve
Dave McDonald
Steve You would be welcome in the CSCC Swinging 60s series. Another Mustang competes with us together with a couple of Chevrolet Corvettes and Camaros although they are rarely all out at the same meeting. A good mix of cars, Triumph TRs, MG Midgets, Bs & Cs, Austin Healey Sprites & 3000s, TVRs, Morgans, Jags, Ginettas, Turner, Lotus 7s & Elans and Marcos, etc. Usually full grids and generally good clean racing. Hope to see you next season. Dave McD
manxman
Hi Dave. Think the other Mustang is Wayne's. He helped me out on the tech side during the build. Only need to sort a couple of things, silencers, trailer. Worrying thing for me is passing scrutenieering as it would be an expensive trip otherwise. Going to the Gold Cup this weekend so planning on bending a few ears.. With any luck will bring the Stang and the TR4 next year and alternate at events... Cheers
Dave McDonald
Yes it was Wayne's Mustang that I was referring to. You could come over for the CSCC Swinging 60s race at Oulton Park on Sat 27th Sept and speak to the Club officials about car eligibility while you're there. I'll be racing my Navy blue TR6. If you do visit, come over and say hello. Dave McD
manxman
Hi Dave Yes will be there on the 27th and will come and say hello, also there this weekend for the Gold Cup. Looking forward to it. Hopefully will chat to the guys in the pits. Cheers Steve
kevin bryant
And now I've managed to master the free GoPro editor I've upload a couple of runs to the sprint and hillclimb facebook site (as I've not yet worked out how to post them on the sprint and hillclimbs youtube site yet). go to https://www.facebook.com/trhillclimb regards kev
