Just Finished in time for Christmas

Recommended Posts

In case anyone is interested...We have just finished this car for one of our TR Register customers....

It came to us with a very smokey engine that had only done 150 miles since being fully rebuilt by another TR specialist in the Oxfordshire area (the customer did not want to go back and complain as he had no faith in the company)

Anyway, he had heard good things about us through another TR Forum member (Thanks :)) and wanted Bob (my grumpy old mechanic ) to do the engine anyway.....

So, we sat down with the customer and he decided that he wanted a Steel Cranked, go faster engine with a Supercharger (after driving mine) We did lots of investigation and research into the correct build and specification and built exactly what he wanted....fully balanced, gas flowed, domed pistons, Cambridge motorsport steel crank, lightweight flywheel, Arrow con rods (these were an absolute work of art) Kent Camshaft etc etc - Oh and a Moss Supercharger Kit......Revington Manifold and Single pipe exhaust...... Boy it growls and "barks"

The body colour was changed from Mimosa to Ferrari Yellow....and looks stunning....bonnet louvres...Ridgard Seats, Mohair Hood, custom black dash with boost gauge, momo gearknob, motalita dished wheel etc...He also had some 16" split rim Image wheels made.....with Yokohama rubber all round....

Stag Type Overdrive Gearbox (beefed up) and Uprated Differential Etc

Some Pictures of the completed work...hope you enjoy...

Hello Stuart.....I told him staring at Baldrick's picture's would damage his wallet...!!

Stunning Colour....really bright and in your face!

The engine is a work of art....probably about 200+ BHP (conservative) although we've limited the new owner to 3500 RPM for the first 1000 or so miles.....

It sounds absolutely gorgeous.....

I think the owner will be along shortly to give his view, he's just picked it up today at 16:00 ish and taking it back to North London, so fingers crossed he made it back ok...

Ok, I will try again so when I get to that part. I think one of the biggest problems I had was that the manifold wasn´t properly sealed.

Its really hard to get it bolted on properly with the engine in. I guess I will be able to bolt on and drop everything into the the engine bay this time.

No Mr Jersey Royal,

This car resides in Manchester on a temporary basis. The owner lives in Barnet North London....

Not aware he has moved to the Island.....

I could be wrong...??

:)

Marko

Thanks, I have yet to make contact with the owner, or see it on the road.

But was told it was a Ferrari yellow, and newly imported to island, that may mean there are three Tr6s in that shade.

He Ho time will tell roll on the summer.

Cheers

Guy
