4Mal
Towergate for me ( But you have to speak with Sue or Denise ). No probs on insurance which is with 50% uplift included + two track days a year. Try the TR Reg scheme as well, but Towergate did a stonking deal for me and with cover that I'm confident in. Ive sent you a pm
Iain Rollo
My 6 is about as modified as it's possible to be, between 240 and 250 BHP and is within a few coppers of #230 with Towergate.
Steves_TR6
I'm with Towergate too. Stage two engine and some other stuff, can't remember exactly but about £220? I did give the same info to 'the new people' but they seemed less flexible, can't remember the exact differences. Steve Ps, my Yacht is also insured with Towergate, shuld ask for a multi vehicle policy :-)
alan57
It will depend also on mileage limitation? agreed value. With high agreed value and limited mileage, my race TR6 is with Footman James. Highly modified and all fully declared by providing a full spec sheet.
Tom Boyd
I'm going to say footman James. My stage rally prepared mini was insured through them with every mod declared, unlimited mileage and even commuting!!! All for 110, valued at 15k Tom
john.r.davies
Strange how different people get treated differently, when it comes to road-race cars! My VItesse had a 2.5 engine and I asked all three of the TSSC's 'preferred' brokers for a quote, declaring all the mods. They all refused, Footman-James because it had no rear seat, another because I had removed the interior trim. Pettifogging, wouldn't you say, whe they did not demurr at a full roll-over cage, a race seat and six point harness? Towergate were much more matter-of-fact, and offered me fully comprehemsive cover for road use, limited mileage, no race cover of course, for less than £200. Peter Cobbold
One-off supercharger mod and routine suspension mods, roll cage. Market value. 2k miles pa. Towergate £115. It may help that I've never made a claim since buying it in 1978 and being continuously insured with Towergate's predecessors almost since then. Red 6
Perhaps you should try Competition Car Insurance (CCI) they are now part of towergate but specialise in competition and modified cars and those used for track days. Their rates have shot up recently but there are many alternative companies which specialise. Have a look on the SELOC forum, as insurance is just as big a thing if you own an exige or elise whith a 300bhp audi or honda conversion. Usually comes with 5 or 6 trackdays as well. Others are Henderson Taylor, REIS, Haggerty etc. Hope this might help
JRCWeedon
Towergate- My highly modified 5 has 200 at the wheels fibreglass panels etc etc 25% uplift 3000 miles £168. I tend to be circumspect about how I describe the engine mods listing the individual items rather than for arguments sake saying it has a full race engine. MadMarx
I always thought Lloyd insures everything.
