Guest Mick RichardsChange...
Mr Michelin makes round tyres which are centrifugally (?) balanced. When I've fitted Michelins to my spoke wheels no balance weights were needed. . Mind you when using Michelin X tyres I realised they'd forgotten to give them any grip...at all lol. Fireman049
I've got a set of MWS chrome wire wheels for my 3A which will only be used for 'shows'. For everyday use I've bought a set of Dunlop centre-lock alloy wheels. In my humble opinion I don't think that Minilite wheels suit the sidescreen cars? (to each his own I suppose). Tom. Fireman049
With reference to the above reply and attachment. I used Photobucket. Have I done it properly ~ is this how you use Photobucket? Is it not possible to show photo's instead of the thread? Tom Edited February 19, 2013 by Fireman049
tomfpurves
I can see the wheels fine so you are using photo bucket well.I really like the Dunlop wheels.what size are they and what did they cost? Tom
Fireman049
Hi Tom ~ Thank you for your positive reply! The Dunlop wheels are not fitted as yet because I'm in the process of putting all the body panels back, along with rebuilding the engine! I'll measure the wheels tomorrow (Wed) and give you the price. I'll also give you the price of (genuine) Minilite wheels for comparison. From another Tom (Tom Tom!) Graeme Robinson
Andrew, I've sourced these on Ebay but from the link (which hopefully you can access) the side wall appears different to those on your vehicle, are they the same tyre do you think? Menno van Rij
I've looked at the Dunlops again and I'm a little puzzled: I spotted bolts around the spinner. Best of both worlds or a belt and braces approach? Menno
Fireman049
Hi Menno ~ The bolts you mention are used to secure the splined hub adapters. It's the same with Minilite's Tom.
Menno van Rij
Thanks for the answer! Ah! Best of both worlds! I was afraid (but couldn't believe it) that it was the belt and braces approach. But, for that money and with that Jaguar 'heritage'(...) it was hard to believe that it would be a fake spinner! Tom When selecting a pic in Ph/bucket, you see a screen like this: Just click on 'click here', the text will turn from white into yellow and go back to the forum' screen. Just 'copy/paste' and the pic will show up as a http...jpg text between the brackets. When posting, the picture will appear. Cheers mate ~ Tom. Tom, When answering this one here, we're getting off topic on Jersey's thread. I'll PM you about that one. In the mean time: don't resize the pics for this forum. I like it when they are this big; gives you a good eye on details. (I'm wearing reading glasses - as a lot of our fellow members do, I think...) Menno

Regards Andrew I'm guessing it may be a "library" photo. If it's the general look/text/ribs/etc. of the sidewall you are questioning, then I doubt that Vredestein will have changed the moulds for purely aesthetic reasons although I suppose it's possible. As you've already ordered, I'd wait until you get the tyres and see how they look. If in doubt, actual photos of the ones you receive can be compared to Andrew's, Mine and a whole load of other folk on here who have them and like them! Assuming they are like the ones we have, I doubt you'll be disappointed :-). Edited February 25, 2013 by TorontoTim
TorontoTim
Hey Graeme - did you receive the tyres yet and are you happy with the results?
