Tr Shop wire wheels

Guest Mick RichardsChange...

Mr Michelin makes round tyres which are centrifugally (?) balanced. When I've fitted Michelins to my spoke wheels no balance weights were needed.

. Mind you when using Michelin X tyres I realised they'd forgotten to give them any grip...at all lol.

I've got a set of MWS chrome wire wheels for my 3A which will only be used for 'shows'. For everyday use I've bought a set of Dunlop centre-lock alloy wheels.

In my humble opinion I don't think that Minilite wheels suit the sidescreen cars? (to each his own I suppose).

Hi Tom ~

Thank you for your positive reply! The Dunlop wheels are not fitted as yet because I'm in the process of putting all the body panels back, along with rebuilding the engine! I'll measure the wheels tomorrow (Wed) and give you the price. I'll also give you the price of (genuine) Minilite wheels for comparison.

I still rate Superlite as probably the best value for a decent calibre alloy wheel . . .

Certainly nice enough but in 15 inch you cant get a 5 or 5.5, all starts a 6, 7 upwards

Andrew,

I've sourced these on Ebay but from the link (which hopefully you can access) the side wall appears different to those on your vehicle, are they the same tyre do you think?

With reference to the above reply and attachment. I used Photobucket. Have I done it properly ~ is this how you use Photobucket? Is it not possible to show photo's instead of the thread?

Tom

When selecting a pic in Ph/bucket, you see a screen like this:

Just click on 'click here', the text will turn from white into yellow and go back to the forum' screen. Just 'copy/paste' and the pic will show up as a http...jpg text between the brackets. When posting, the picture will appear.

Hi Menno ~

IT WORKED!!!

Now, how do I get the photo's to be smaller as the one's I attached appear to be too big?

Cheers mate ~

Tom.

Tom,

When answering this one here, we're getting off topic on Jersey's thread. I'll PM you about that one. In the mean time: don't resize the pics for this forum. I like it when they are this big; gives you a good eye on details. (I'm wearing reading glasses - as a lot of our fellow members do, I think...)

I'm sure Andrew will answer in due course but yes, these are the right tyres (I have them too!).

Graeme,

Sorry, missed your post (thanks Tim!) - this tyre, whilst specified as a Vredestein Sprint Classic, appears to have a deeper sidewall tread than my tyres - maybe it's a newer version (mine are 3 years old) or maybe an incorrect photo has been used?

Regards

Andrew

I'm guessing it may be a "library" photo. If it's the general look/text/ribs/etc. of the sidewall you are questioning, then I doubt that Vredestein will have changed the moulds for purely aesthetic reasons although I suppose it's possible.

As you've already ordered, I'd wait until you get the tyres and see how they look. If in doubt, actual photos of the ones you receive can be compared to Andrew's, Mine and a whole load of other folk on here who have them and like them!

Assuming they are like the ones we have, I doubt you'll be disappointed :-).
