After 80 hours at work in the last 7 days,A day out in the 6 tomorrow is just what the doctor ordered. at trip down to Cardiff via a very scenic route me thinks .

So the 6 misbehaved on the way home from work last week, running on five:-(, so I thought I would I would get the 6 out of the garage to sort it out, the bugger started on 6 and has run on 6 all day:-) so i had to drive it like I stole it, V big smiley face

Thursday its operation stop leaky 6 sump gasket.the aim is a drip free 6 ;-)

Oh no your fiddling again, dont overtighten front and rear sump bolts Martin, or you will have a big oil leak followed by loss of oil pressure. This happend to my mate Pete, one front sump bolt blew out followed by contents of his sump all over the road,he heard the bolt bounce back off the road and pulledmover swiftly, thread had gone on ally cross piece.

Oh ye of little faith!!!!!, I didn't need to replace the gasket as there was no oil weeping around the sump to block joint.:-). 4 bolts had oil shipping from them so each one has been removed, cleaned and replaced with a good dollop of RTV and hopefully Robert is my fathers brother ;-)

Looking forward to using some more grown up words , whilst I put the trailing arms/driveshafts/hubs and the diff back in. should be s fun next few days!!!!!!!!

well that was easier than i thought!, just dropped the diff out ready for a refurb. The hardest bit was getting the fooooooooookin exhaust off

Had great 3 hours driving the 6 this morning,finally had a day off to enjoy the car, just what the Dr ordered, great A road driving and some fantastic views from the clee hill, I know the car tests my patients from time to time, but it really makes me glad I own such a great car :0)
