Well, here’s hoping you had a good Christmas; may I wish all fellow Followers a Happy New Year.
Our meetings have been extremely well attended and we were pleased to welcome at our Barnack meeting on 2nd November Gerry Bingham from Ryhall with his TR6. Also Gill and Steve Bartlett from Spalding with their newly acquired “magenta” TR6. On the 21st we welcomed Izzy and Ian Ward from Upwood with their recently acquired TR6 and John and Janice Willis from Murrow with their Triumph 13/60.That gives us five new members and cars in six weeks. We hope to see them out and about on our planned events for next year.
With winter now upon us we have time to catch up with the jobs on our beloved cars. Alan Lyon is nearing completion on his superb TR6 rebuild. Duncan is getting “respoked”. Peter Taylor is delving into the fun of retrimming seats on his TR7. Alan Burwood is carrying out some floor panel repairs on his TR6. I am upgrading the rear trailing arm bushes on my TR6 and Rod Sortwell is sorting out the cooling system on his TR4A.
Quite a number of Camb followers supported TRGB’s open day in October and enjoyed Garry’s hogroast, nibbles and coffee. There were some very nice cars for sale. The raffle for a 12000 mile service and MOT was won by our Graham Warren. A group of us enjoyed a day at the Classic Car show at the NEC and met up for lunch and a chat.
By the time you read this we will have enjoyed our Christmas dinner at the Three Horseshoes at Wistow (which was fully booked again) and AGM, details of which will be in the next TR Action. The committee have all offered to stand again if agreed, i.e. Peter Parkinson as GL, Trevor Sherwood as Treasurer and Dave Burton (myself) as Secretary and Scribe. For the events committee, Alan Lyon, John and Val Burningham would join us again.
Following Trevor’s write up in social scene No 254 about his French trip, attached is a photo of Nic Waller’s Dove crossing the Pont de Normandie which connects Le Havre and Honfleur. When it was completed in 1995, it was the worlds longest cable stayed bridge (now third longest). The two pylons are 705 feet tall.
Peter sends us monthly updates of Camb Followers events, you can email him at gmparky@googlemail.com to request your updates, or ring Peter on 01778 343625. Also, our website is: http://www.groups.tr-register.co.uk/camb-followers/. See you at The Three Horseshoes at Wistow PE28 2QQ on the third Monday of each month and The Millstone at Barnack PE9 3ET on the first Wednesday of each month.

Leicestershire
Phil & Rachael Gunn
Well it is 2012, so Happy New Year to you all. Now down to Leicestershire's news.
Our November gathering was our AGM. Everyone was happy to continue in their present role so no changes there. This of course includes Reg as official meeting heckler.
Our thanks to anyone and everyone who has had a part in organising last year’s events, both on a local and national level. We have as a group attended many including The International & European Meeting, together with local events run by Wharfdale, Borders and Red Rose to name but a few. Some of our members also went on a trip to France and others to Belgium.
Our last run out was in October and attended by nineteen cars including two from London and two from Cotswold Vale. We believe that to be our best turn out ever; thanks to Colin and Ann for organising.
The New Year’s Eve party will have been and gone with everybody having a great time no doubt. Our theme is French food, so thanks to Tony and Ruth for their hospitality.
Looking forward to the year, we hope to continue to support other groups at their events and organise a few runs of our own. Any Leicestershire members that do not already come along to our get-togethers are most welcome on the Third Thursday of each month at the Rose and Crown, Tilton on the Hill. Hope to see you there.
Future events
Sunday 18th March - Breakfast run to Brooklands
Sunday 22nd April - Stilton Run
