iain
That is sad, what a fabulous contribution to Motorsport he made. R.I.P Sir Frank.

boxofbits
Great pity. With Williams we probably witnessed some of the greatest F1 races possibly of all time with Senna, Mansell and Prost back in the early ‘90’s. Rest in peace Frank. Kevin
John Morrison
Did anyone ever do more for F!, with so much less? John.
RobH
50 minutes ago, John Morrison said: Did anyone ever do more for F!, with so much less? Apart from Hesketh - maybe not. I remember, rather vaguely I'm afraid, back in about 1970 when Frank gave a talk to a local car club at a pub meet in Woolhampton. His team was just starting out in F1 as Frank Williams Racing Cars then (later bought out by Wolf) and his talk included a lot about F2 but it is amazing to think of it. He was an entertaining speaker and came across as a real enthusiast - and stayed around for a pint and a chat afterwards. How times have changed. Would a F1 team owner even remotely consider doing that now? The last chequered flag. RIP Sir Frank.

Dave McDonald
A great character in the F1 paddock. Bit of a Jack the Lad running his team hand to mouth in the late 60s but with reasonable success with a Brabham BT26 for Piers Courage, then various Marches before small scale Politoys and Iso Marlboro operations. The Wolf which won its' first race came from a Williams background before Frank set up his very successful team with Patrick Head. Great shame that the team has fallen to the sad shadow of it's former self in recent seasons. RIP Sir Frank. Dave McD
