fraggle123
This is a very rare and genuine original DU4 Carburettor which I have 2 of. The quantity of these produced was probably only in the double digits. They are so rare in fact I don't think you could find an image of these on google if you tried. The only ones which tend to crop up for sale are the bigger brother and less useable DU6's with 1.75" ports, these have the 1.5" ports. This is an open discussion on what you think they are worth ? Motorsport Mickey
Whatever they are worth has to be balanced against the new price these are available at of £350, order on line. Oohh you'll find pictures there also. Mick Richards

RobH
First hit on. web search: https://su-rebuilders.com/products/du4-carburetter
fraggle123
They are not avail from su-rebuilders. Try call them and you will see they are just testing to see how much interest there is/how many they could potentially sell. They have not made any of these carbs I emailed them and they said they have no plans of making them anymore. Essentially that price is click bait and picture are of a 3d printed prototype...... Motorsport Mickey
As Rob has posted Hamish. How these carbs could be used on a TR I'm not sure. 1/4" smaller on the inlet on each inlet would mean a 1/8"th lip from carb to inlet which would muck up the airflow. You could reprofile the rear depart ramp out of the carb 1/8" around the diameter but that might screw the carb pressures up inside. There is no historical value in fitting them (non having been fitted before on TRs, as far as I know) and without a performance advantage to demonstrate against 1 3/4" SUs or Weber and Dellorto carbs. Both these are well known and give a performance advantage and are priced at about that £350 mark. I'd suggest these smaller DU4 carbs might suit a smaller engine in one of the other Triumph models. stuart
TBH Ebay would be the best place to find their worth. Stuart.

ianc
People with the original (not modern) Lotus Elite, which has the Coventry Climax engine of about 1.2 litres, might well be interested. There's probably an owners club. Ian Cornish
Peter Cobbold
it's likely the performance gain over a single SU is undetectable and may be negative. But they would look good. Peter
AndrewMAshton
Peter, you are so right, 'They would look good'!!, about 90% of the work, at huge expense, done on my car!, cheers, Andrew
