john.r.davies
Indeed, and Hamilton showed his experience and quality when he opted to change tyres to wets, when the Young Gun, Norris, replied to the same question from his pits by saying, "NO!" . Norris' car control in the circumstances was phenomenal, and with Russell doing so well in a Williams that really isn't in the first row, not to mention Verstappen, like a rider upon a pale horse, Hamilton must really be looking over his shoulder at approaching defeat! RogerH
It was so sad to see Norris slipping and sliding all over the place. Sure the pit crew got this seriously wrong. Well done Lewis for keeping a calm head and hauling him in. Roger

Awfully well done that man! John. fantastic milestone and i for one would love for him to get championship No.8 so he can retire gracefully then and let the young guns fight it out. Just think, in your third year (2020 having been abortive) in F1, and leading a Grand Prix for the first time, with less than ten laps left of the race. It's spitting with rain, the champion is a few seconds behind you but you are holding him off. The pit wants you to come in for rain tyres, when you are handling the track like an old timer. You could be about to win, against Hamilton!! Would you come in? Noticably, Hamilton did, and Veerstapppen had done so already. Experience counts, but is VERY expensive! Ian Vincent
Hamilton said “no” initially and only boxed after his team insisted. McClaren didn’t insist and they should have, they are the ones with all the data including rain radar. Norris has enough to be getting on with. Rgds Ian

I think any "young gun" worthy of the desription would relish going up against Hamilton, the up and coming gunslinger always goes looking for the established champion...it's the mark of a man. If you beat another "young gun"...so what ? but beat Hamilton...you should be so lucky. Mick Richards

Now McLaren have shown that they have the straight line speed (hardly that surprising as they are using the same engine), and Adrian Newey has to be the best aerodynamicist around so RB probably currently have the fastest all round package. All of which means that Hamilton isn’t going to get it all his own way in future and unless Mercedes can up their game and cut out the careless mistakes, he is unlikely to win any more championships. just saying.
