john.r.davies
http://www.powersteeringforclassiccars.co.uk/info.htm And a popular conversion for classic rally cars - I know of two Mk.2 Escorts with it - is the module from a Vauxhall Corsa. This site describes its use on Locost cars, but says it can be fitted to almost anything. Certainly it is most flexible, the assistance being speed related, cutting out comp!etely above 30mph, where it is, after all, unnecessary. http://www.super7thheaven.co.uk/blog/corsa-c-electric-power-steering-epas/ John
Ian Vincent
I have seen an article somewhere about fitting a Corsa electric power steering system to a sidescreen car. Rgds Ian Just realised, Alan has posted a link to the article I was referring to. Duh! Edited October 7, 2017 by Ian Vincent

Hamish
Len I visited Rawles motorsport last year when looking for a car and they were doing a full restoration and mods to a Red daimler sp250. They had fitted a very neat under dash elelctic power steering unit to that. Give them a ring I'm sure they'll tell you what they used. pauper
Thanks Hamish, I notice you have owned a few bikes, another of my bad habits , racing motorcycles, now called classic motorcycles was one of my favourite ways of squandering the hard earned, cheers len
Hamish
Yeah brought up as a petrol head it's in the genes. Not using bikes on the road much now tho. The Register sprint etc championship is my hooligan fix now (honestly officer????????)
peterh
Hi You could try Lite Steer they use on a lot off VW camper vans and seem to be OK. They now do other classic car and said they have fitted one to a TR2. Peter
mjdearing
Hi Len I'm afraid the only thing that will help you get your driving licence back is a green light from your consultant and then dvlc sanctioning it,im going through the same process but its like a game of ping pong between the dvla and the consultant and me in the middle,so by all means get the power steering in anticipation as it should help you when you get back in the TR but will have no sway in any decisions from the powers that be. good luck Len. Guest
I've only dealt with the HQ guys - it's a Dutch company. Nice people and customer orientated. Perhaps they should reconsider their UK dealership. Menno Edited October 11, 2017 by Menno van Rij
pauper
Hi folks, I have made quite a few enquiries re the E A P S for the TR, I settled on Mk 2 Mania of Bolton, very helpful , very reasonable price, I decided on a DIY kit, as time is not important, and fitting will be therapy, I will keep you updated, cheers LEN

Perhaps they should reconsider their UK dealership. Menno This company manufacture a power steer system for the DeTomaso through their German distributor. The system is speed sensitive, and has excellent reviews from those who have had the system fitted. It could be a distributor problem?
Guest ntc
The green 5 on there website was rebuilt by me years ago,the new owner then had it fitted and he lost a lot of money trying to get it sorted,in the end he sold it because of this and silly mods that was carried out after I sold it.
