Grafton
Hi just asking has anyone fitted a servo to assist clutch movement thinking of fitting one to the tr250 as it is tad heavy
BlueTR3A-5EKT
Yes this was done by a member some years ago on his TR6 to assist after he suffered back problems. Just be sure everything works correctly - these systems are notorious for clutch drag problems due to insufficient disengagment caused by many mechanical wear/breakage issues. Lots on these forums about clutch problems and thier solutions. Peter W
RogerH
Hi, I had thought about this just to see what happens. It should work and make life very easy. The GT6 servo is very small and looks like a neat answer. Roger
oldtuckunder
The GT6 servo is very small and looks like a neat answer. Or one of the diesel van alternators with a built in pump on the back. Alan But seriously compare your clutch operation to a few others first, as if yours is extra heavy then powering it is likely to break whatever the problem is. dingle
You could use the .700" dia. master cyl. that was fitted to the later Tr6s to reduce pedal pressure. The downside is that the stroke of the slave cyl. is reduced and could cause release problems if there is wear in the various pivot points. Another option is fitting the Sachs pressure plate, which requires less pressure to disengage. This is mentioned in one of the Buckeye clutch tech articles. harrytr5
Did this to a TR4 and the owner was delighted as he could then drive the car with his dodgy left foot.He now has problems with his eyesight, something I can not fix. Regards Harry
stuart
Yes Bald Rick on here has one on his TR6, fitted to the left hand toe board. Works well. Stuart.

TriumphV8
There is no need to do so. The clutch pressure can be made as low as the softest 40HP VW Polo requieres. The SACHS plate 3082100041 mentioned above is the first step. Main areas to work on are the 0.7" master cylinder and the bushings from TR3 for the shaft in the housing. If anybody is still unsatisifed mabe due to be handicaped I would try a central locking device. If its a gearbox with the limousine input shaft many cheap units fit with a bit work on an adaptor plate because its smaller than the TR6 shaft.
