Morning all

My afternoons entertainment is changing my discs, the new are coated in oil/grease so what is the best way to degrease them. I did think about putting them in the DW but the boss isn't going out.....

Cheers Mark

Do make sure that you really have these clean, the sticky coating sticks like sticky stuff and can and will contaminate the pads |||||||||||||||||||||Don't ask!! If you can soak them overnight and then clean them again with some fresh fluid, wipe them over with clean dry paper till there is no discoleration to the paper.

Brake cleaner, does what it says on the tin !

I did mine earlier this week, the cleaner gets the preservative off easily, and the greasy fingerprints too.

Well after a good dose of brake cleaner, somebody decided she had to pop out and while the cats away.....

Put them in the DW and hey presto. Worked a treat.

And nobody is any the wiser....

MMMMM....

has anyone tried the Dishwasher ?

Mark.

Yes - put the sump, timing cover and rocker cover in it.

Didn't get found out but had a job keeping a straight face when the next lot of dishes came out grimy and that was commented on!
