Andrew Smith
Ok,...........just thinking out loud, but if I was looking for an original UK RHD TR8 what would I have to pay for a good example? Edit: convertible Cheers Andrew Edited November 15, 2013 by Andrew Smith
marko
£8,000 - £10,000 normally. Slightly more perhaps for a low ownership concours car....
jothecat
10-12k for a really good one IMHO Jo
TR NIALL
But how many Good Uns are out there.
Alec Pringle
There aren't that many out there to choose from. In ragtop terms 18 'officially', and maybe another dozen or so, at most, that came out of BL, one way or another, as complete cars. Performance wise, they were a tad short of what you might expect. Cruisers, not bruisers. A good TR7V8 conversion might well be more to your taste Andrew, and better value as a driver's car. Cheers Alec
pfenlon
And California connection have one, or did a bit ago.
Andrew Smith
I'm not actively looking for a TR8 at the moment, but keeping options open if I decide to sell the M3 convertible early next year. It would however have to be an original UK RHD TR8 and not a TR7/V8 conversion though - albeit better value and probably a better driver's car. Cheers Andrew
Chris59
For what it's worth, as I own both : a TR8 is a very nice car, but if you really want a Wedge, why don't choose a TVR 350I ? Okay, the look is more radical, but with 197hp, it's a more "serious" engine than a standard TR8, and it's far cheaper than a real 8. THAT's a proper badboy/hairdresser car ! jothecat
332BHP in the one below, not that I ever get to use all of them. That increases the need for a hairdresser after a drive with the roof down. Jo

The LHC has spoken and any wedge, particularly a TR7/8, is off the agenda otherwise I will be disowned. Yep, you've guessed it she doesn't like them, so that's that................... RobL
How interesting that only 18 RHD TR8's are thought to have been built and prices are relatively low yet with 329 Italia's the opposite is the case. Different animal, yes and different era, obviously so only an observation. Was at the Coventry Motor Museum yesterday ogling a lovely red Italia with such lovely lines and the TR8 wedge shape isn't to everyone's taste... However, what will be the case in the future ? 1161 RHD TR5's and prices thru the roof, anyone willing to hazard a guess where TR8 prices will be 20 years from now ? jemgee
Assuming I survive next 20 years I doubt I will recognise if its a TR or a hearse
