50 Years Zolder GP....Triumph TR4 onboard

Recommended Posts

Great video - tragic ending. One very Mad Marx.

I was watching the rear view mirror - what was that

trying to keep up with you?

I'll probably get crucified for this, but I reckon you

could have braked later for some of those corners

on the first lap! Just teasing the other guys, I guess.

The car behind was the +8 of Paul Conway.

He won the race.

The main problem at Zolder are these tight chikanes. If you are gently too fast you can't steer through them and you will jump over them and ruin the frame and suspension work.

So I prefer to drive a little slower through, especially on cold tires.

Cheers

Chris

Another great video. Fantastic 1st lap.

Thats a pretty quick yellow 3 you are taking a while to overtake

(I assume - still in the middle of it). Almost like you are saying -

Age before beauty !

Must be similar spec to yours - still with R&P or as original?

Yeah Yeah . . Yeah

Love the original style tach redlined at 7-2 to 8

Well Done Race 2, Exellent.

You should Start from the Back all the Time, makes it more interesting for us.

Thanks for Sharing.

I never thought I could win that race with starting from behind.

Excellent drive by Chris, he was well pumped up (mechanical failure in first race does that to you).

Trigbush,

I don't think you'll find Chris moaning about being "cut off" as you put it, he knows you can't claim the racing line from behind.

Very impressive, Christian, thanks for sharing !

I understand that you've repaired between the 2 races, does it mean that the damages in your Tr4' engine weren't "terminals" ?

The oil pressure went away but I saw it at once and switched off the engine.

After replacing the woodruff key of the oil pump shaft the car was ready to race. No harm to the bearings.

Chris, where is all the telemetry coming from, eg rear view camera, tach, speedo and track position and what are you using that brings this all together and overlays it ?. Really nice videos, is that a toggle switch for the overdrive on the steering wheel ?

Thanks Marcel :-)

Roy - roof only on the Nordschleife.

All other tracks open.

This year we have a mixed grid. FIA cars and TC regulations cars. But they are doing well together.

FIA and TC do have separate classes.
