clive
My TR2 is back in my garage... all gleamy bright. Now the hard work starts! It won't be immediate though. Too much on this week to get stuck in. Typically it rained on the way home, then stoped long enough for the wind to dry the car out only to restart as I began to unload it off the trailer. Thank goodness for old towels and a carcoon! :blues:

Guest harry dent
Well done Clive. This part is the very best bit with all the shiny goodies being fitted on.I forgot how long it takes to fit a car up completely.Be carefull not to scratch it as I did last weekend on the nearside door. Not bad considering it is now all fitted up.I will get the painters to blow it in.Keep us posted. Regards Harry TR5 nutter.
malcolm
AT LAST! Where are the pictures then, we want to see them Malcolm.
clive
Viewed from behind An angled side shot Sorry, space was limited and the rain prevented me getting any decent photo's before I put her away. These ones where taken just before I used the best softest towel I could find (well, almost) to dry her off and then inflated the carcoon around her.
jonlar
Looks wonderful Clive, have you gone for the "original" lighter BRG, as referred to by BP?
Guest harry dent
Well done Clive now the fun starts. How do you post the photo,s on the Forum? Regards Harry TR5 nutter. ??? ???
clive
The British Racing Green that I have gone for is the correct one... but I would say that, wouldn't I! The green is the same as the car was painted in when I bought her. It is also the same as the green found on some of the (possibly) original panels and under the dashboard. It was a triumph green, however, if it is the correct one for November 1954 who knows... Bill Piggot certainley didn't commit to a specific one in his written reply to my question last year. mrtr2
Looks great Clive. As for me, the color could not be more perfect! What are you using for fender bead, and are those Baby Tenax posts on the door? As I recall, your car is quite close to mine as far as com # and mine came with Baby Tenax all way round. Again, looks great. Keep the pictures comming. Please feel free to add to www.msnusers.com/TRIUMPHS Brian
scotty
Thought you wernt into concours jobs Clive ! It looks absolutly stunning , well done . Looking forward to seeing the finished car in the flesh at Malvern .
clive
The paint job is not concourse... it's about "original" spec. There are a few blemishes that Worcester Classic Cars are going to sort out when I take it back to have the scratches I put on blocked out|!! I AM IMPRESSED WITH THEIR SERVICE! And from previous comments I've made (and some that you may have noticed that I've not made) regarding some of the suppliers and specialists I've used you know that I don't say that lightly! Andrew Smith
The paint job is not concourse... Hi Clive Yeah, I'm not into concourse paint either. I remember my 73 TR6 (OPC 310L) coming back from the paint shop in 84, looked great: so I had a few blemishes put on the doors for good measure! :: Seriously, CMG looks ab fab, enough to get you twitchy whilst fitting her up! Looking forward to seeing more pics. Cheers Andrew
clive
more pics will follow as and when... it's the first time i've dome anything thos major and as my next door pratts, erm, neighbours, don't like noise, it could be some time... Sod em.. my target is April when my step daughter wants me to take her to the prom in the TR2... in the mean time if anyone with a TR wants to visit me then let me know, the only condition is that you disconnect at least one silencer (for some tr owners that will mean no silencer... so be it) ! The louder the better!
Dave Herrod
Clive , What has happened to you? Soft towels and car-coons? Seriously though, it looks graet and we are all looking forward to following the second half of the rebuild. Well done! Dave
clive
I think this is the third half of the rebuild! Feels like it... (never again)
jean
Chin UP Clive, it's always good to have the car in reach. I would say do it in your own pace don't rush things as this only can result in paint work damage here and there Note that foreplay is anyhow a nice sequence of the exercise Jean
jonlar
Sod the neighbours. If you need a hand in dealing with them, just give me a call . . . ! I'm with Alec on this one, is your garage physically linked to their premises, are you using an air powered wrench after 8pm, or firing up the engine at high revs without pipes etc., if not get on with it! jean
Clive, tell the neighbours that a drumset is on Emma's Xmas wish list But also explain them that you could eventually convince her to refrain from that wish Jean
clive
She also has an electric guitar and both Wendy and I play the SAX! But, we don't practice at home anymore. Aparently we start DIY at 8:30am in the morning... ermmmm... yea, right! All because we complained about their fountain going outside Emma's window 24/7! Air powered wrench... I've got one of those... hmmmm.... nice thought!
Les
I've just bought a really loud vintage banjo off Ebay.......perhaps we could make up a quartet? Joking apart, these situations can be difficult and I can understand that you would not want matters to get any worse. Great to see the pics of CMG though, keep 'em coming. Les. clive
Pushed behond the point of no return... Anyone fancy a TR meeting in my road... once in Durham I got 30 TR's outside my Dad's house... 24 of which drove from Essex to get there! The rest were from Northumbria Group. On that occasion the participants and the nabours contributed a fair bit os money towards Marie Curie! More recently some Cleveland Group members met there along with some Glavon Group (although no Glavon TR's were present)... When the TR2's finished maybe we should have a party? scotty
If my 6 is finished Im up for it
Kiwifrog
Clive I found that if you accidently switch the hammer action on when drilling out spot welds it makes a fantastic noise. Now do your neighbours park their car close enough that your hammer drill will reach it or do you want to borrow an extension cord
clive
Why use an extension cord when a generator would double the effect?
jonlar
Why use an extension cord when a generator would double the effect? Now you're getting the hang of it Clive!!
