Malocomotion
Hell all , a work in progress ! metal work is finished, some welding and new metal there and there. I expect the beast in primer at the end of the month and perhaps the body will be painted at the end of this summer... It's time to open the pile of boxes full of parts... Malocomotion
Thanks a lot ! the tub is very well made. Better than most of the Italian cars of the périod. a masterpiece. Now i have to choice the colour. Originally she was in a shade of white/cream. But my wife prefer silver. The remains of the interior is black, i prefer red... originality or custom ? that is the question ...
had17462
Silver with red trim for me! nick
stuart
Not a particularly good picture but I spotted this Light Gunmetal grey car in California a few years ago having a freshen up. With a red interior would look very nice. Stuart. Edited June 13, 2012 by stuart
Tr4Tony
Wow, what a fabulous car ...... What I could do with that !
Menno van Rij
Perhaps Raymond ('sidescreen' on the forum) can help you with some pics of a wonderfully restored Italia. I know that he was in a head to head battle with a Dutch Italia owner during last year's Dutch Triumph Day concours. And yes, that gunmetal grey-ish Italia looked very sharp indeed! stuart
Hello all ! I send a PM to Raymond for the pictures. I like this modest combinaison of colors, car apart : http://www.breckrothage.com/manion.htm cheers Thats a great combination of colours for an Italia. Mind you I would take the Ferrari any day Stuart.
Malocomotion
oh no! The man who sold me the Italia was the lucky owner of quite the same 250 GT in Celleste Blu. The Ferrari is defenitely too big, too thirsty, too posh... I prefer the Italia, a stylish but usable car. cheers Patrick
vivdownunder
See Italia #1 is for sale on Car & Classic as a rebuild project. It was rumoured that a Sabrina engine has been tried in that car. Wonder if the chassis has any evidence of Sabrina engine mounts that were positioned midway along the block ?. Viv.
Malocomotion
I don't know. but Paul Hogan, the former owner of this Italia (project), never told me this story. perhaps a urban legend ? there was no point trying the Sabrina engine in this car ! bur it's just my opinion... cheers
vivdownunder
Ask Paul about the rumour of a Sabrina in #1 next you see him. Viv.
