Jim58
Hi did any of you Guys who have replaced their bumpers use rubber washers (front and back bumpers) between the bumper and the body when securing? Cheers, Jim
Edwin
Hi Jim, Yep, that's what I did when I fitted the bumpers after the restoration of the body. I cut out various bits of rubber from the inner tube of a bicycle tire just to protect the fresh paint on the body. And I had no problems fitting the bumpers this way. Denis
Yeah, I used small rubber washers...it just didn't feel right to bolt hard chrome up against soft paintwork!

stuart
I use the thin versions of the circular rubber chassis to body pads, I always have them in stock as you always have more than you need in the mounting kits. Available from all the "Usual suspects" Stuart.
cmdr19
I cut out some 'u' shaped sections from closed-cell foam to match the bumper bracket profiles, bolted on the bumpers and just slid the packing pieces in place before tightening up. Mike
simonjrwinter
A lump of pond liner will give you all the thin rubber washers you require. Simon
