Hmm 400 hours on the resto, cant have had much done to it then ;) Interesting to see how long before that one starts climbing out  Then again whoever paid that much for it will probably never use it anyway. Looks as if the Astons have gone up again, I wonder what the tatty DB4 (only needed carpets and a carb rebuild) I turned down for £1800 in 1977 would be worth now!

Stuart.

As Stuart rightly says, 400 hours isn't exactly a top notch body off restoration.

It's a TR4, a modest budget mass-production sports car in its day, and not exactly a rarity 50 years on. TRs in themselves were never anything that special in the great motoring scheme of things, and this one doesn't appear to have any special provenance or individuality to enhance its perceived appeal. Yes it looks decent enough as TRs go, but at least from the photographs not a concours winner.

But presumably £37+K including buyer's premium ? I guess the seller will be more than chuffed with his net £29K or thereabouts.

More money than sense for sure, and fools and their money seems bang on the nail. There are far more interesting and/or individualistic cars about for that sort of dosh.

Cheers,

Alec

Well, its a nice looking car and I suspect you'd not get much change from £50k if you handed one over to a specialist and asked for a shiny green one back ..... you pays yer money and takes yer choice etc.
