Peter dobson
Any body with information regarding TR4 XJV
rcreweread
Peter - welcome to the Forum. Are you looking for this car or looking for information about it's history because you own it ? The DVLA website shows it is on their records and on SORN and last log book was issued in Jan 1996 - no MOT history logged so obviously off the road. I suggest you will get a better response if you put this post in the "TRs Re-United" Forum which is 7 Forum headings below this TR4/4A one - also I would suggest you head the post "Anyone have any info about a TR4 XJV 212" in that post and change your heading in this post to the same or similar - you can do this by editing your post - click on the 3 dots in the right hand corner of your post. Also add any other info such as where the car is/was/could be, colour, last known condition etc Good Luck Cheers Rich

Garry Stamford
Hi Peter , Just looked back at my documents for the car and realised I bought It from a p Dobson in the 70s, whilst working in Grimsby I seem to remember Is that you or p Dobson's son? If it is you I remember you bought it new from the triumph dealer in Grimsby Was it whites? I met the salesman who sold it to you some years later at rounces garage in Scunthorpe. What colour carpets did the car have when new? I thought they were standard grey but found a tiny piece of 60s Hessian backed red carpet in the footwell (identical to the carpet I had in a triumph 2000 in the late 70s) Does anyone else know if this was an option when new? I had the car signal red for many years but have returned it To white with black Surrey surround and hard top.

Garry Stamford
Might leave it then Remember going to an international tr meeting in Italy In the early 90s and lots of the German cars had the upswept Tailpipe. Must be a continental thing
Harbottle
Mine has it too. I am sure it helps with not grounding.
RogerH
It Does look as though Gary's hole is pointing upwards, where as Stuart's points rearwards Roger
Garry Stamford
I think Stuart's is probably bespoke, mines just a generic angled Piece of pipe I happened to have. Anyway I've just ordered a 10 inch 60mm piece of stainless pipe so it's Going to go straight back like it used to. Garry

Garry Mine is a Phoenix big bore system supposed to be for a TR6 but shortened to fit a 4a. That angle tail pipe is standard for that system. Stuart.
ianc
If you wear shorts and stand behind the car with the engine running, the exhaust will keep the nether regions warm Ian Cornish (I never wear shorts, BTW)
