  1. Yeah, looks like mine are the same as what Mike has. I got mine off Ebay through ANG. (beautiful looking car btw Mike). Going to have another look at fitting them.......
  2. I had the gearbox tunnel off over the weekend to fit my new angle drive. The existing angle drive came from Pete Cox along with the gearbox last year. quickly realised that my new (NOS) drive had a different sized thread on the part which connects to the gearbox. Someone on the Spanish TR whatsapp group suggested connecting the speedo cable directly to the gearbox. lo and behold it works. Probably not ideal as had to bend the cable a fair bit to get it inside the tunnel but for the time being it seems to be working fine. That NOS drive is for a different type of gearbox? Mine is A type.
  3. Hi, i am in the market for a replacement rad for my 4a and trying to learn a bit about radiator core specs. I think i would prefer to have a refurbished original rather than a cheaper aluminum reproduction. I was reading that the more rows, the better cooling. Is it as simple as that? Any advice on the best new cores to look for? Thanks in advance, Richard
  4. Thank you RMP, i am leaning towards using the same hole. Wish i had thought this through a bit better before buying the bullets....
  5. Recap of the various suggestions i have seen on here; Product for renovating white garden furniture. Trim/upholstery paint Kiwi shoe dye Mr Muscle kitchen cleaner Magic Eraser Manista hand cleaner and nail brush Spray paint with plastikote. CIF on a stiff brush then paint with vinyl silk emulsion. I first cleaned them up a bit with baking powder on a wet sponge then used the shoe dye method. Quite pleased with the results
  6. I plucked up the courage to get ready to drill holes in the doors for the new bullet mirrors but quickly realised that there's not enough space on the inside of the door for the plinth. Any suggestions of how to attack this? Cut the interior plinth back a bit - but that's a bit of a bodge i would like to avoid if at all possible. I don't really want to mess about taking the door to bits and taking the glass out either. Does anyone have any photos to share of the inside plinth and where it sits on the door? I am thinking the easiest solution is to get hold of a mirror similar to the origin
  7. I have bought two "bullet" mirrors from ANG and trying to pluck up the courage to drill holes in the doors. I understand there doesn't seem to be any "official" exact location. Currently i only have a mirror on the driver's side which i think is a little lower down than others i have seen. If i cannot get the new one to cover the existing hole i may need to weld and re-spray that. Regarding positioning the mirrors on the wing rather than the doors. I have seen a car that has the mirrors a bit closer to the wheel arches than the green 4 pictured above and i thought looks okay. Any other me
  8. This is another job on my to do list... It is mainly the speedo and tacho which are very very dim but while i am at it i figure i might as well change all the bulbs to LED. Has anyone done this recently and can recommend where to buy the bulb kit? Thanks, Richard
  9. Thanks Gents for your replies. Have just bought a NOS Smiths angle drive off Ebay for a decent price so will try and fit this and hopefully my new speedo will work once and for all!
  10. Is AlanT still around and selling these or can anyone suggest the best place where to acquire one? Bit of a nightmare i have had. One of the first things i did when i bought the car last year was to fit a new overdrive gearbox from Pete Cox. The speedo never worked from day 1 so bought a second hand one which i had recommissioned. I was down near Alicante recently with my mechanic doing a lot of little jobs. We tested the speedo and new cable (using a drill) before fitting it to the dash but forgot to test it again before putting the car back together. First test drive and the new speedo
