CoP - Coil on Plug

Recommended Posts

Jochem, COP is maybe not ideal unless you use coils with a short HT lead rather than true pencil type. The pencil coils are designed to go in a hole which supports them, like on a modern 16v engine. If you have them hanging off a TR6 plug they will suffer from vibration failure.

I use these on most applications, http://www.efiextras.co.uk

about halfway down the page.

Though not on my TR, that has a 6 tower coilpack and uses wasted spark in pairs. There’s a convenient place to sit the coilpack on the block under the middle two plugs.

Yes. I am specifically looking for these. I have seen them on a TR6. It actually had a bracket along the cylinder head to mount them. I just do not recall the car or owner. I would like to avoid the HT Leads.

Hello,

The coil that works perfect is Motorcraft DG508.

Mounting tabs will need to be mounted to the rocker cover.

The bracket that I purchased is bespoke for the Datsun/Nissan 240Z and I will need to modify.

Any EFI Drivers amongst us using CoP?

If so, can you share brand and article with me? also a picture of the installation, I assume a bracket to hold the coils in place is required.

This GT6 engine is not mine!

Never mind the coil packs look at that trick suspension!!

Yes.   These Herald/Vitesse/Spitfire/GT6 racers do some exotic stuff.

Will you be adopting the oil supply octopus for next season?
