Trever the rever
My TR6 engine bay was refreshed quite nicely by a TR specialist probably about 10 years ago. All bar the engine block and head were removed to do the best job possible. It was about two years ago I noticed the inertia cut off switch or clip wasnt fitted. I know it was there when I bought the car in 1995! And given I have the bonnet up at least once a week for at least eight months of the year, pretty poor on my part! My question is, where can I best source a replacement for the switch and clip. I note the wiring harness has been connected together behind the wiper motor. So a proper reinstallation should be simple. Regards Trevor
Waldi
Hi Trevor, I bought mine from Revington, it comes with the bracket, spades and a clear description. You can find cheaper items on ebay if you want. Google tr6 inertia switch as this topic comes up regularly on here. Regards, Waldi

Robert Price
You can buy the same inertia switch from a breakers many cars use them a Freelander has one mounted on the bulkhead, cost me £5 the last time I bought one, just remember to cut off the bit of harness it is easier to connect. The clips if you want an original set up are called Terry clips and are on e-bay I think the diameter required is 28mm. Rob
stuart
If you want to go down the originality route then Series1 XJ6 had them fitted too with the same clip. Stuart.

matttnz
Am I having a blonde moment? I thought the CPs didn’t have the inertia switches?
Waldi
Am I having a blonde moment? I thought the CPs didnt have the inertia switches? My 1970 CP (LHD) did not have one indeed, but I have ordered one in my replacement wiring loom. Waldi
aardvark
My 1970 CP (LHD) did not have one indeed, but I have ordered one in my replacement wiring loom. Waldi To add to the confusion, my 70 CP (RHD) has one. Cheers Dave
Waldi
I looked in my BB: It does not show an inertia switch for any of the models, but the book is dated 1972 (issue 2). So maybe on later versions of the BB is is shown? Waldi
aardvark
I’ve just looked in the moss cat. Their entry states the inertia switch as being fitted from 52328CP (RHD) and from 51399CP (LHD). That makes my car (August 1970 build) the second RHD vehicle so fitted. Dave

Rob +1 I used the same switch from a Mondeo and mounted it in the glovebox where my wife can quickly access and reset it if she ever has a minor 'incident'
