JJC
TRAction shows a Castle Combe track day on 4 April subject to noise limits. Anyone know what the limit will be? Would the standard single box system pass? I wouldnt be surprised if it wouldnt. JJC
monty
It will be close but they put on a temporary muffler if it is over. Castle Coombe is very strict due to the locals. Cheers.
LGFromage
If it helps you to decide my TR4A has a single standard stainless steel crossbox (TR250 type) and it passes the Castle Combe noise test. It is a great day out not to be missed. Tim
marki
Hi All. I don't want to hijack the post but does anyone have trackday insurance ? I'm interested in going but concerned about what could happen. Cheers Mark.
JJC
It will be close but they put on a temporary muffler if it is over. Castle Coombe is very strict due to the locals. Cheers. That would be good if the circuit offers that. Is there any way of finding out for sure? Actually I could just ring them. I’ve driven Castle Combe before but they didn’t ha ve a noise test then! They didn’t need seat belts either. JJCPS My phone has a sound level meter, I could measure it myself if I knew the limit.
Chilliman
Noise limit: STRICT100db(A), which is measured at ½ metre from the exhaust outlet at 4500rpm
Motorsport Mickey
"I could measure it myself if I knew the limit." Err maybe...if you don't mind having an argument with their scrutineers who will be using Motorsport accredited sound meters which may not agree with your phone! You could contact the Motorsport organisation and ask for the phone number of the most local sound scrutineer and arrange for him to noise test the car for you. I did and he made a small charge for it, but worth it rather than be failed. Mick Richards
PYU940F
Hi Mark My Insurance with Footman James charges me £60 or a one off track day or I think £150 for 3 track days. Well worth it for peace of mind. Check with your insurers. Simon

marki
Hi H and Simon I'm yet to give the TR insurance scheme but somebody else also mentioned that I may already be covered for non competitive events. Cheers Mark.
