Hi Folks,

I have the seats for the TR4 at a local upholsterers as I was having no luck (or skill) earlier in the year.

They were dropped off in July for a possible October finish date.

Just like the TR4 rebuild dates come and go - this one went.

I contacted them in late Oct and asked if they could be completed by Christmas.

Annoyingly (I could kick myself) I didn't say which Christmas.

Today I gathered up steam and was scripted to have a right go at them. Yer.

So I phoned them.

The nice voice in the office put me through to the man in the upholstery shop.

I explained that I had dropped off two TR4A seats..... before I could say anymore he said (very cheerfully, too cheerfully) February 17th.

What could I say. I would have been happy with April the 9th or there abouts.

So I said thank you and we wished each other a happy New Year.

That's how politics should be run.

When I get them back I shall say who they are - I'm expecting great things.

Roger

Ever the optimist, eh, Roger?

My philosophy? Bet on trends, not long shots.

Looking forward to seeing your new upholstery and a positive report at TRchaeology 2017.

Sounds a bit like Fletch in Porridge.

After completeing a 5 year stretch he left the prison in the clothes he had entered with all those years before.

In his jacket pocket he found a shoe mender's receipt.

To test if his faith in mankind was still intact he went into the shoe menders, and produced the ticket.

The cobbler without looking up said. "Be ready Thursday"

Hi Roger,

I know my last tip caused nothing but trouble and he does not now machine anything regarding engines. Have you tried Hukes in Hemel Hempstead(upholsters). They are booked up well in advance but you never know. They know their stuff.

Regards Harry

In this digital age its good to remember the difference between 'precise' and 'accurate'' ......

Hi Folks,

they normally have a good reputation. Something has gone wrong. They have at least given a precise date.
