Mark1965TR4aBRG
As the twin Weber conversion takes shape my thought turns to a suitable throttle pedal mechanism. I am having my original pedal modified with an extra rod to take the twin cable pull block, but it seems a bit excessive with the up and over crank design through the side bulkhead too. So I'm looking for an independent pedal and mount that simply works as is that I can modify. Has anyone done this before and if so, what with? Looks like an early Nissan micra assembly might be a good starting point.. Thanks folks. Mark
stuart
Why complicate the issue more than it is, mine has run for many thousands of miles on a modified version of the original bell crank and rod. Stuart.

Stuart. ..because the original crank arm design can be improved upon. It needs a simpler system to pull a cable from the top of the pedal arm rather than half way across the car in my opinion. Of course a well modified original would do, but where's the fun in that?

MichaelH
Why not use the original lever system - not being wire it doesn't stretch. The main weakness is the mills pin connection between throttle and arm which can be drilled out to accept a bigger stronger mills pin. The beauty of the system is that it is simple see previous posts on the subject Michael

Mine sheared whilst touring in Germany. Replaced with a German masonry nail which is still in there and there it will remain.
Mark1965TR4aBRG
The lever system is fine for the under carb set up with the SU's, but the Webers have a twin pull cable set up that's top mounted. What's needed is more like the TR6 set up with twin cables through the bulkhead. The mills pin/throttle arm will be a retained as a secondary return spring.
