ken foster
Hi Folks, my 4A front tyres are both wearing on the inner 1/4 of the tread. What causes this and can it be equalised over more of the tread. Roger Roger FWIW my Scimitar GTE (TR6 suspension more or less) had same problem. It was just the front springs sagging. It was great for cornering but tyre wear and grounding over humps a pain. New springs.... Job done. Check your ride height, post a piccy side on. ken
TorontoTim
What's the toe in figure in degrees supposed to be? Anyone got a quick answer for this?
Peter Cobbold
Tim, Depends upon the compliance of the bushes. I use nylatron+stainless that wont compress so set the toe parallel. Peter
Prefect
Have checked the shims and there were three on each side so have moved one from left side and fitted it right side. Simple enough to do. Our leader Guy cobbled a system like this to check progress. http://www.negative-camber.org/jam149/technical/images/alignment/camber1.jpg It worked pretty well as a guide. It showed improved situation but I have ordered new shims to better equal the sides out. I plan to set both sides to 11/2 deg negative camber. Then check toe in again
stuart
1 1/2degree neg on the front is a bit much and can cause tramlining with 195`s. I would go with 1 degree only if you are running that size tyres. Stuart.
Guest ntc
As I stated above? Guy will sort it but before you do anything level floor and measure ride height at the chassis under load.
Prefect
Will report back after Sat at the garage, will aim at 1 deg as per Stuart's advice. Thanks for comments will also check for soggy springs. Edited May 7, 2015 by Prefect
