Trigbush
Interesting comments today from the US. Is that another Italia owner? Reserve still not met. I bet he's holding out for mas o menos $50k (with $40k resto fees in mind).
Paul Harvey
Several Italia owners on BaT. I am told the owner values the car at $60,000 but I don't know what the reserve will be. I have finished bidding and repeat I shall be happy to help anyone who wants to buy the car. It is certainly the most complete and unmolested Italia to come to market since I have been Registrar. I am told the owner is completely genuine but I don't know him and I have obviously not seen the car in person.
stuart
Paul I wonder if our German friend may finally get his wish. Stuart.
Paul Harvey
Stuart - I suspect not, this car needs a restoration. Edited September 2, 2014 by Paul Harvey
Italia 227
Auction closed. Seller's remorse perhaps, or deal completed offline ?
Paul Harvey
I suspect the latter as the car was reasonably well known in its local area and came very unexpectedly for sale.
Italia 227
Presumably a good price to forgo having the auction run its course.
stuart
Still up on Ebay now. $47100 reserve not met. Stuart.
Ashley James
I'd love it!
Paul Harvey
As a bidder EBay just emailed me to say the reserve has been lowered. I'm guessing this might now be bought for $50k which seems fair to me. With bodywork so expensive to repair properly, and parts so difficult to find, this one ticks lots of boxes for me. It might even be restored professionally to your exact specification and colour combination and landed all taxes paid in UK for maybe £60k. They aren't going to get cheaper. Andrew Smith
Tempted myself, but the LHC would not be amused - she's just getting used to seeing Saffron instead of Pimento! Good luck to who ever buys it - not sure Italias will be this 'cheap' again. Cheers Andrew
