ians
I am still getting warning messages from McAfee every time I try and log in to the forum so I thought I would investigate a bit. It would appear that the particular element of the website that they dont like is the TR Shop. see screen shot Does anyone else have this problem?
john.r.davies
I'd suspect the top two hits: batebrand; "Website design and graphic designers to make your business leap from the page or screen." or Marketing Means; "Marketing Means is a full-service marketing research company – one of the most trusted in the industry." (Well, they would say that, wouldn't they?) What they doing, linked to the TRR webpage? They don't sound like companies that TRR would employ to monitor the webiste or make it "leap from the page", do they? I suspect that the link exists on your computer, and that this has alerted your copy of McAfee. As it happens, I have Norton, which raaises no objection. My work IT dept. uses McAfee, and that blocked the TRR site a few months ago, never knew why, and still blocks many bulletin boards that otherwise I know to be well run and no more of a risk than any other. Wayne Scott
I am not overly familiar with McAfee, but with anti-virus software you can usually find a place to add user trusted sites to manually override whatever it is that your specific settings don't like. Alec Pringle
Microsoft Security Essentials does a decent enough job, and avoids all the issues I hear time and again from users of McAfee, Norton, et al . . . . It doesn't cost either. Cheers Alec

John Batebrand produce TRaction and (AFAIK) are also involved with the main TRR website. Edited April 4, 2014 by BrianC
