Alec Pringle Posted August 29, 2012 Report Share Posted August 29, 2012 A TR entry has been submitted for the Snetterton 4 Hour Relay Race, 14 October and organised by the MG Car Club. Team Triumph TR will hopefully gain a place on the grid . . . . . it's been a wee while since a serious TR team had a go at relay racing, and long ago we used to do very well indeed. The team is led by Neil Revington, TR5, aided and abetted by Andy Somerville and Karl Wetherell double driving in the latter's TR4, Tony Scheach in his infamous TR4 'Beastie', and Roy Chamberlain also TR4 mounted. Roy in white, the others all powder blue. That leaves room for one more TR, preferably a Michelotti 4, 4A or 5 but any TR considered - car and driver alike must be both quick and reliable, and willing to accept the discipline of driving for a relay team. It's all for a day's fun, but our idea of fun is somewhere reasonably upfront, not touring at the back of the field. If you're interested, please let me know asap . . . . . If we are fortunate enought to secure a place, a number of helpers will be required to assist the team - especially in terms of monitoring the situation around the track, out of sight of the pits. It was good to read we may have a team, but I was sad I did not pick up on this until today as 14th already booked out. So sort of pleased I will not now miss out ,but sad no TR team. Norfolkjohn Posted October 15, 2012 Report Share Posted October 15, 2012 (edited) Well the relay team may not have happened this year but there were still four TR's on track on the Saturday of this meeting. The usual suspects - John Andon and Pete Foster - were battling away in the Ecurie GTS race in their TR4's and it was nice to see them joined by Richard McKoen in his 4A. The other welcome sight was the TR6 of Phillip Lambe in the Thoroughbred Sports Car Championship. Here are some pictures of the TR's in action on Saturday 13th October.
