Kiwifrog
I like it but unfortunately I am fat with big feet so that rules me out as a buyer, oh that and the 16.5K asking price Alan
Chris59
I have seen a car who seems the same as this one, asking some job to be road worthy, for sale a year ago (around GBP 9000 ?, but not sure), and nearly bought another one (TR2 based) 2 years ago at GBP 10K. No, I am not fat , nor have big feet, but I wasn't sure if it would be possible to registered this kind of toy in France Chris.
Menno van Rij
Yep, last year it was for sale for much less. Don't know if it was 9K, but it was certainly cheaper back then. Having said that, I love the car! Apart from the too modern steering wheel, I think it's a really nice car. If you happen to have a TR chassis lying around, this would make a nice change from the TR mainstream. Menno
88V8
I like the general shape, but the exhaust is horrible, and the car's clearly not designed to get wet, I would think he'll struggle to get that sort of money. Ivor
vivdownunder
We've got one in Oz sort of like it. http://www.tr-register.com.au/pics/2007/sullivanm/2008/special1.jpg One way of fixing the spare wheel well problem. Viv.
Alec Pringle
Looks like damn good fun to me, probably goes like Errol Flynn on a double dose of Viagra. As for "and the car's clearly not designed to get wet" . . . . give over Ivor, it's a proper sports car, no surplus namby pamby bits like carpets, heaters, windscreens, wipers, weather equipment . . . . You dress for the weather, a set of bike leathers would do nicely. That's how I used to club rally a TR3A 40 years ago, we had to get rid of all the superfluous weight and frontal area to have a chance of keeping the Lotus Cortina and Cooper S in sight. There were enough holes in the floor to let the rain out again ! Cheers, Alec
Rodbr
Everything's nice but the price, I think it is a bit over priced. I would need 6" off below the knee, 4" off (each side) my hips couple of vertibrae removed but other than that looks great fun. Now what do I do with that 3A chassis at the bottom of the garden. Make one to fit me?
TR3BGeorge
I am sure that it is a fun car, turning heads and warranting many questions. But, I suspect that he has a "white elephant" on his hands as far as getting his money back out of it. Surely, he knew this when he built it. (Don't call me Shirley.) Over here, we call his asking price "whistling past the graveyard."

Viv. Oh, I love that Oz Special! No problems with overheating, I presume! Do you have additional pics? And indeed: when there was a spare TR3 chassis in the back of my garden, I would give it a try! I like the alu body. Lots of WD40 needed to polish it all. Menno Edited March 21, 2010 by Menno van Rij
