kob666e
Don't know of a supplier (unsurprisingly!!), but fit the biggest one possible that you can. Have a Transit van battery in mine and it keeps cranking forever!!
ianc
I fitted a Kwik_Fit 60618023516 in February 2002, and it is performing well. It was about the biggest battery they had with terminals in the correct position. It has a 4-year guarantee, so I guess it might fail anytime now! Ian Cornish
RogerH
I know it is a mortal sin mentioning their name but Halfords do good batteries of many shapes and sizes. Get a big one. With your handle 'FilbertFox' you must be a Leicester City supporter (or am I being too sleuthlike) Do you remember about 2 years ago, home match against PNE and Andy Lonegan scoring the winning goal for PNE - He's the PNE goalkeeper - one big kick from end to end. Great Joy. Roger
Alec Pringle
Hi Robert, A decent local motor factor can usually provide a good battery for a lot less than Halfrauds or Kwakfit. Their catalogue will give battery dimensions, and location and shape of pos / neg posts - just get the biggest that will fit in the space, with the correct shape of post in the appropriate corners. Cheers, Alec

davidgsmith
Anyone tried the batteries that Moss sell? I am thinking the Dry variety here. Thanks
ChrisR-4A
Hi David, I agree with Alec, and would only add that having had one poor and two dud old style open bar type batteries I would stick to a high capacity modern designed sealed unit every time. A local specialist should be your first stop, as for make "Varta" among others have a good name. Best regards Chris Edited March 28, 2008 by potts4a
Allan Westbury
Hello. Can anyone tell me a good battery for a TR4A - 1967 - and a supplier - please ? I'm based in Leicestershire. thanks Robert Bought my last one from Battery Services, 47 lunsford rd,Leicester. tel 0116 2741400 in May 2005. Still going strong. As the name suggests they are battery specialists and offer a range of different quality batteries. I paid £41.07 inc vat then. Also have a 4A & battery code was 0895 if this helps. stuart
One thing that you will notice now is the price of batteries has soared over the last twelve months due to the Chinese buying up all the worlds metals. Witness the price of chroming now as well. Stuart.
