RogerH
Hi Folks, quite a few people of the years have asked for help/advice in removing the rear nut of the fuel pump. Had to do it this morning. 1/4" drive socket ratchet 5" extension UJ 1/2" AF socket Works a treat. Don;t know if it will work on the TR2/3/3A - not sure of the room available. stuart
A lot less room on a sidescreen car, even less on a left hand drive sidescreen car and even less on a left hand drive Italia! Stuart.
Fireman049
When I had the mechanical petrol pump fitted to my 3A I was able to use a short box spanner to remove the nut. Tom. Edited January 7, 2018 by Fireman049
Don H.
I use a ¼-drive socket with a short wobble extension and a flex-head ratchet. No issues on my LHD sidescreen, but it is a tight fit fershure.
Lebro
I've changed my pump a couple of times, & don't remember any particular problem, as Roger says a ¼" socket set with ½" AF socket (or 13mm ) does the job. Bob.
BrianC
I cut an old spanner in half so have an open-ended and ring version which work fine in the confined space as you don't need huge leverage.
tr graham
Stuart Nearly impossible on an italia!!! But just achievable with 1/4 drive from underside with car on a ramp
